Naming Inanimate Objects.

I've recently bought a compound bow (Black Hoyt Alphaburner) and I've decided to name it "Fawkes" as in Guy Fawkes. One of my friends called me an idiot but then I reminded him how he calls his motorbike "Tobias".

1.Does anyone else give inanimate objects names?

I dont see why not, as long as the object is either very beloved or the name is extremely funny.

I must say, I do not name any of my things.
Some people name their PCs. I haven't named mine. I cannot think of a fitting name.
Besides, if I name it, then it can be controlled by others... no, I shall leave my things nameless and free.
Especially my beautiful PC...

I always name things, and pathetic as it sounds, I get emotionally attached to them then.

Only problem is I can never remember what I've called something so I end up renaming it hours later.

Back when I did archery, I had a recurve bow that I named Clara. It a toss up between Clara or David but I preferred the female name.

Yes. I have a Nerf gun named Geoff, a copy of Saints Row 2 named Viktor and a d20 named The Crushinator. I only name objects that have the ability to make me extremely happy.

I not only name objects... I name the combinations of said objects (ex.: Outfits having names like "Ze Ubermensch")

I have a jacket I call "Granny"... coz it's just such a granny jacket... wooly and rainbow.. it's awesome.
And everyone in my house calls the Tv remote "Channel Changer".. coz that's what it does. It changes channels. LOGIC!
