Hello all! I do not post many threads, but I figured I would like a second(or maybe even third or fourth) opinion regarding an upgrade to my computer. I wish to buy a new monitor, and two choices have stuck out when searching for a gaming monitor; those would be the BenQ XL2420Z and the ASUS VG248QE. Both are around the same price, same size, same response time and hertz.

So my question to you all, is which one should I choose and why? From what I understand, the ASUS has some default color issues, but it is easily fixed with some tweaking. Does anyone who actually own one of the monitors have anything to say regarding this choice? If you have another monitor that you think deserves mentioning, please link it in your comment and explain why. Thank you for your time.

If you're after decent colours, I'd go for the Asus MX279H or MX239H. Only difference between these two is size. One is 27 inches, the other, 23. They are fantastic for gaming. Especially horror games, intense whites, deep blacks, really vivid. I've never had to tweak anything, and it has a quick change button for multiple settings. Gaming, standard, theater, sRGB, night view, and scenery. The screen also has a flat finish, so even in a brightly lit room, you won't get obnoxious glare.

Ah, thank you for the suggestion. I will be sure to add them to the possible list of candidates. I looked at the link, they are IPS monitors are they not? The last time I used an IPS monitor, it had fantastic coloration, but the response time/refresh rate had a noticeable stutter when watching videos or playing games. Does either one of those exhibit type of behavior to your knowledge?

Happy to help. Yep, they're IPS. Never had a single stutter or problem watching videos. The monitors have a 5ms response time, which is pretty decent. Asus also claims they use 'Tracer Free Technology' which sounds like PR hype to me, but I haven't noticed any ghosting when playing games with a lot of movement.
