I just got the Fallout collection for PC and I cant get it to work on Window's 7. All the pixel's are rainbow colored and when I click on it it just freezes. Is there any patch or ways to fix it? If you know any please send a link! It would be a huge help

It depends on whether you're trying to play Fallout 1, Fallout 2 or Fallout tactics.

Anyway, for fallout 1, Download the official and unofficial patches first. Download and install the latest High-resolution patch afterwards. Set it to the appropriate resolution in-game. If that doesn't solve the issue, Change it to 16-bit (or 32-bit if it was already on 16-bit). That should solve it.

For Fallout 2, just find the final unofficial FO2 mod and patch it. It should work once you set the correct resolution in-game and restart.

The patches are really, really easy to find. Just type down fallout unofficial patch or something into Google. I hope that helps. Have fun, they're both excellent games.

OT: You should try compability mode as was mentioned, and if not, try the steps above

but What if i accidentally already downloaded the high res pack?
Accidentally downloaded the pack? You mean you already installed it and it doesn't work? If so, then I only have a few last-resort solutions:

- Press alt+tab a few times (close and reopen the game window). This seems to work for some.
- Right click on desktop and go to resolution screen. Start fallout while this window is open.
- Retry compatability mode. Use all of the options available.
- uninstall and do another clean install. Make sure to use "run as admin" when running the hi-res patch or any other patch. Try changing the bit again if it doesn't work afterwards.

Aside from the "run as" option, make sure that you adjust your video settings. I remember having a problem with that until I made it something like 800x600.

Where did you get the game from? GoG? Steam? Did you buy a physical disk? How you fix the game may change depending on the format of the game and the retailer you got it from.

What he said.

I know for a fact that the GoG versions are already compatable with Windows 7.

I'd assume the same with the Steam version.

Doubt the physical versions are without hunting down some patches, both official and fan-made, from the internet.

Hehe, well yeah, that'd be your problem :p

And I'd assume that the GoG versions would be compatible with the mac and/or work on a virtual machine. Though to be honest, I've never tried so it'd probably be best to search around about it. If you're interested in other games that work on Macs though, this mix [http://www.gog.com/en/mix/mac_friendly_gog_games_4] has a large amount of mac-friendly games.

I'm afraid all I can really suggest is post you're error in the game's forum on the site. When you buy the game the game's related forum will have a shortcut in the "community" tab at the top of the site.
