Recently I developed a problem with the news server part of the program. Whenever I try to access a newsgroup I get the following error

A News (NNTP) error occurred: Cannot connect to NNTP server XXX.XX.X.XXX (XXX.XX.X.XXX:XXXX), connect error 10013

I'm fairly sure its a firewall problem; If I disable my firewall entirely the error goes away. On the mail side of things, there is no problem. And yes, I'm certain I have the correct news server set up

However, disabling my firewall isn't a particularly practical option.

So, what file, service or port or whatever do I need to open in my firewall to read the news again?

Using the Windows Firewall, on x64 win7 Ultimate.

Here are a list of well known ports http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/portnumbers.asp Looks like you want to add tcp/udp for port 119. I don't use the windows firewall personally. I user my firewall in my router. Alternatively you can use a second computer and put it in a dmz and use it as a web proxy server to host your internet connection.
