I still have both 1 & 2 so hopefully this one won't suck. But I don't see how they are going to work around the no Rufus problem at least they won't try to recast him. That a point in their favor for me.

Excellent!

Hopefully this means other classic movies will be getting a sequel. I'd like to see a Ferris Bueller sequel.

Why make a sequel? The two films are fine on their own.
I kind of like the idea. The first was fine on its own. The second was kind of like one of the characters had a bad acid trip. I would like to see how they end up becoming the saviors of humanity:making bowling scores way up, and mini-golf scores way down.

First we got to see this fabled Cowboy Bebop movie with Keanu as Spike. If Alex Winter needs work I'm sure he can be in it too. He kind of looks like the anime interpretation of a white guy anyway.
But it's been so long since the second movie came out. For me a lot of the charm lies in the fact that they're old 80's/90's movies with the aesthetic and goofy humor which fit at the time. Bringing that into the modern day without altering it wouldn't work. Changing it too much would ruin the feel of the movie. And with the two main characters being twenty years older I imagine it'd be almost painful to see them reprise their roles. There's no way this can live up to nostalgia.

Most non-non-non-heinous, dude.

Of course, without Rufus there may be a wee problem. They can't just replace him, but you could probably bring in Morgan Freeman as a distant ancestor.
It'd work, if Rufus' utopian future were far enough away.

I just want to see as much of Morgan Freeman as possible. Is that so wrong?

I'm actually really intrigued, mainly because it's the original guys, Winters and Reeves, working on it. If it had been a recast situation, I'd have said "fuck no". But you know . . . it sounds interesting. Where would those radical, rock stars be after 20 years? I mean, they DID save all of mankind with their music.

You know there's going to be a time machine involved, because Bill and Ted in modern times just wouldn't fit. It wouldn't be Bill and Ted without the cheesy 80's dialogue.

I'm going to keep a close watch on this, it seems like it'll either be really hilarious or really awful.

Hey, if Stallone could pull off Rocky and Rambo in his 60s, Reeves and Winter can do Bill And Ted in their 40s. As noted, the lack of Carlin will hurt the film but I'll give it a go.

And for those who can't wait for this to come out, I recommend tracking down "Freaked" - which has Winter in the leading role, Reeves uncredited as a major supporting part and is equal parts fucked-up insanity and awesome hilarity.

Wyld stallyns!

This can only be awful. Considering the second movie's ending pretty much prevents any sort of sequel with world peace and everlasting happiness being achieved.

my question isn't why do it without Rufus, it is why do it at all? I enjoyed the original two movies, but there doesn't need to be a third especially this long after the second.

But if they end up being saviors of the world they would grow into different characters anyway.

I'm not saying I'm optimistic but I am curious.

That's pretty awesome. Good to see they have a good attitude.

Because George Carlin is Rufus.

Except when he's Pam Grier.

This is gonna be non-non-non-non-non-heinous.

Now, guess what number I'm thinking of.
