So, as we all know, it's been longer than 6 hours since the last COD game was released, which means we've all finished the campaign and are ready for the next challenge. Never fear loyal moneybags fans, for our Lord and Saviour Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has announced;
"As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly-anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing."
Well, at least that answers the "Will there be a sequel?" question.

*Sigh* So what are your thoughts? and how long can this go on for?

They should just drop the pretence and start naming CoD games by year.

Call of Duty 2011, Call of Duty 2012, Call of Duty 2013 etc etc.

In before "Treyarch's closing to the story-arc that began in World at War and continued in Black Ops." Maybe they'll make a different fucking engine for the game this time. Hopefully Call of Duty will do futuristic warfare a' la Battlefield 2142. That game was fucking awesome and that setting fits CoD like a glove.

By this pace they are going exceed final fantasy's numbering soon
(sigh)
Call of Duty
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized
Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies 1 and 2
Call of Duty: The War Collection

That's only 14. Final Fantasy is seriously over 25 games by now.

2 more games until you beat Final Fantasy! Come on, you can do it, game series that's about 10 years YOUNGER than Final Fantasy!

I'm starting to consider CoD an equivalent to the FIFA or Madden games. Just improve the graphics a little bit, change the level colour filter from coffee-brown to wood-brown, record one or two more lines with stereotypical accents and call it a day.

I was willing to defend (Or at least, not offend) the CoD series until it started doing that.

But how long exactly has Call of Duty been around? 8 years now?
How long has Final Fantasy been around? 24 years now?
Yeah CoD is going to surpass FF soon.

The first Final Fantasy game was released in 1987 while the first Call of Duty was released in 2003. That is 16 years younger not just 10. I personally think they should shelf it for a little bit so they don't completely lose everything when something that does it better comes out and people see it as something better. IE Rockband to Guitar Hero. I mean Activision beat the GH name to death with the random shit they kept putting out while Rockband has had 5 total games now and only 3 as the main series.
