So I'm torn between buying a new E7200/E7400 CPU, a Nintendo DS (seeing as they no longer sell good GBA games in Poland, even on auctions) or nothing.

What would you do? They both cost roughly the same here.

I do not consider buying PSP, because I have a laptop for wireless internet, MP3 for listening to songs and MP4 with 8GB memory to watch a movie.

what's your current cpu?

I never use my DS myself, but a lot of people apparently like it

Do you like the DS? tons of good games out here in the US but idk about Poland. Also, do you consider getting the DSi, the DS lite or just the DS?

Well, I can't say if I like DS if I have never seen it, actually. It also seems that the only reason to buy PSP is for God of War...

My current CPU is a E2160 @ 1.8 GHz, but I overclocked it to almost 1.9GHz. Almost like a E2180 ;p Can run Fallout 3 smoothly at max resolution and Medium/High settings, but that's thanks to my GeForce 9800 GT.

Are there any good games on DS? Could you, like, point out some titles so I can check on Youtube gameplay and so on?

Ok well I love my DS and my coughr4cough cartridge.

I'll list out some games:
Pokemon-any of them really
Henry Hatsworth
Fire Emblem
Advance Wars
GTA: China Town Wars
Meteos.
Honestly, the list is wayy too long, what kind of games do you like to play? If its FPS's you kinda are out of luck and RTS would be under that category too. I'd say don't buy a PSP for the God of War games its not worth the money.

Can't really say whether you should get one or the other, but I can give you some pointers to find interesting DS games.

For starters, a list of DS games ordered by average score:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/

You can easily click yourself to reviews from there, or just search for the game titles on YouTube.

You might want to wait for the new DSi to be released, though. It doesn't play GBA games, but has a lot of other neat features and some extra power under the hood.

Okay, this seems to be *cough* more than enough to buy a DS. Seriously, I loved the GBA version.

Of course I won't be playing FPS or RTS games on a console, except for AW of course. I have a kickass PC for that.

Guess I'll wait till the DSi comes out, so I might actually compare it to DS Lite.

Thanks for the help, guys.

If you are going to be getting advance wars for the DS go for Dual Strike. It is a much better game than the newer Days of Ruin.

Sorry for bumping, but forgot to ask.

Can you run GBA roms on NDS? For example, I have a legal Golden Sun on my GBA, but it's broken - I can't save, so I can (by Polish law, at least) play on an emulator. Would a .rom work on NDS?

If you're contemplating on buying a DS then DO SO. It's a great little console with TONS of different games (and tons of good ones too). I would give you a list of my favorite games but JediMB's link is pretty useful for this purpose. Some people mistakingly dismiss the DS as just another kiddy Nintendo console, but that is the most erroneous missconception a lot of gamers have; but you'll be amazed at how many cool games you'll be playing on that thing.

Well, yeah, I have already seen some cool NDS games.

And I don't care if people see DS as a "childish" console. That's what they said about both Gameboys (Color and Advance), yet I own both.

All I want to know if I can run roms, that would be a lot easier than carrying around few cardridges...

It should be possible with a flash card.

Emulation on the DS is pretty good, although I've never really gotten into it. Definitely get a DS. No matter what kind of game you like there's probably something there for you. If you don't have one, you need one.
