Update: A new image has surfaced of a South American advertisement for Mass Effect 3 that seemingly confirms online multiplayer.

As posted by GameFront, the advertisement has a list of features for the Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition that includes an "online multiplayer pass."

The feature is still only a rumor for now, and nothing has been confirmed by EA or BioWare.

I'm not going to say anything at this point because when Assassin's Creed multiplayer was announced, I remember the shitstorm that ensued, but the multiplayer was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever played, and probably the best and most unique multiplayer experience ever. If Mass Effect can pull this off as well, I don't see why people would complain.

Last I read, general consensus was that the ad was a misinterpretation of EA's online pass, which gives the bonuses to people who buy the game new. Until any official announcement is made, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions whatsoever about this yet.

If the game has multiplayer, it should not be a perk for spending a little more than others. But I think co-op and match making might be good if it works...
I just want the story to be epic, that's all, any thing else is a bonus.

A fantastic single player with bonus multiplayer is better than just a fantastic single player IMO. If there is a multiplayer, I really don't mind if it doesn't take away from the single player

So long as the single player is still the Mass Effect that I know and love, I don't give a shit whether it has multiplayer or not.

People using this as an excuse to freak out at either EA or Bioware: Calm right down. Reserve your judgement until you actually get a chance to play the game.
