Tsk tsk for rushing it. I encountered no issues (dying or getting lost) but I managed to make it last at least an hour.Ghostkai said:After I blasted through the Kasumi DLC in 30 mins.... I won't ever be buying anymore ME2 DLC
Pretty much what I was getting at. It makes no sense at all, the Zaeed and Firewalker DLC gave a lot more than this and were free.Sronpop said:I can't believe they are charging for this. Do they just decide at the flip of a coin whether to charge for dlc or what? We get free dlc which has more content that the paid dlc. They give us multiple missions free, yet charge for something incredibly minor like bits of armour, its nonsensical. Personally I think this particular piece of dlc should be free to cerebus network members. I love Bioware, I love ME2, but what are they doing with dlc seriously, the mucked it up for ME1 as well. They need to take some tips from Valve.
Apparently so. I knew I had seen it before somewhere, I didn't get Mass Effect until about a month or so after release though.Spiner909 said:The Inferno armor was already released as a pre-order bonus, wasn't it?
It was for everyone, I only bought a regular copy of DA:O, so did my son and we both got it free. It was free as long as you didn't buy the game pre owned.TheDoctor455 said:Though, technically, you DID pay for it, because as I recall, it was only free with new copies of the "deluxe" or "special" editions of the game, which were about $15 more than the original price.Onyx Oblivion said:I've said it before and I'll say it again...Bioware sucks at making DLC. Like, really sucks.
Their best DLC was "The Stone Prisoner" and it was free with new copies of Dragon Age. And even then, I'd never have PAID for it.
I don't feel peeved that they have released it (and heck I may even buy it) I am peeved because they told me it was exciting, c'mon............. It is not exciting, is it? Let's be honest!Baby Tea said:Why is everyone complaining about this?
First off: It's 160 MS points. Seriously.
Secondly: It's cosmetic. This DLC release isn't trying to be a big expansion. It's just a fun, small release to provide a little extra 'stuff' for those who want it. It doesn't change the plot, nobody is 'losing' anything by not getting it, and those who are willing to pay for it are getting what they pay for.
And I also don't get this hate or unhappiness about Kasumi. Yeah, the actual mission is only an hour or so, but you get a new character to use for the entire game. She doesn't have a romance option, or as deep conversation options as other 'core' characters, but she does have a bad-ass ability and is pretty handy to have around in a fight. So, really, if you use her the whole game, you've got about 30 hours worth of changed, if not new, content.
I just don't understand people complaining about DLC that isn't trying to be a huge grand thing. They aren't over-charging and it's totally optional. There is no 'canon' sensitive material you're missing out on here if you don't get it. So why are people complaining?
You aren't 'owed' this content. The game is fully complete without it. So why complain?
If it's not for you, it's not for you...but to complain? I don't get it.
Agreed completely. My issue wasn't the DLC itself but that they said it was "exciting"; seeing as there are rumoured Liara and Romance DLC's in the works I was hoping it may have been one of those. I am sadly quite impatient with stuff like that, but that's my problem more than theirs.Baby Tea said:Why is everyone complaining about this?

I think people maybe feel a little let down because they had high hopes for ME2 DLC, such as a nice long expansion pack or something, like they did with Dragon Age.Baby Tea said:Why is everyone complaining about this?

You finally got your computer fixed? Sweet. You're in for a treat for the next 30 hours of your gaming life!Furburt said:A little bit bereft, but it's cheap, and I like Biowares DLC, so I'll end up getting it. I liked all the other stuff they released, even if it was small, as it's always been value for money.
So yeah, a purchase for me. I only just started playing it, and I'm early in the game, so it makes sense.
'Tis a masterpiece alright. Loved every minute of it (except the planet scanning bits). The last few hours will make you nerdgasm.Furburt said:Aye, it's all working perfectly. I must say, Mass Effect 2 is fucking great.MiracleOfSound said:You finally got your computer fixed? Sweet. You're in for a treat for the next 30 hours of your gaming life!
When you're right you're right! I can't actually get away from the game, I think I play it far too much!Furburt said:Aye, it's all working perfectly. My poor, poor thumbs and my poor brain, but honestly if I ever suffer insomnia I am planet scanning, because it seriously (literally) sends me to sleep!MiracleOfSound said:'Tis a masterpiece alright. I just don't know how you can make it last an hour, there's not much to do in it. Both Zaeed and Kasumi have no mission as recruitment (a lost opportunity there), and the loyalty mission for Kasumi is a few clicks and talks and then a fight. There's only so much clicking and talking before everyone has exhausted their dialog. 30 minutes here, maybe an hour if I walked away and made a pie.Legion said:Tsk tsk for rushing it. I looked around absolutely everywhere and tried talking to everyone at the party as well as listening to all the conversations. I am also including talking to Kasumi as well as the ending aboard the Normandy plus her intro.Indecipherable said:I just don't know how you can make it last an hour, there's not much to do in it. Indeed, I played through three times so quickly in succession that I can't play any more at the moment.Jenova65 said:When you're right you're right! Agreed. Admittedly it's the only the wording that bugged me, as mentioned before, there are two rumoured DLC's that have me intrigued, and hearing the word "exciting" in the article on their site lead me to make assumptions.LadyCatra said:I think the typical DLC expectations are bogging people down here - BW is trying a different format and I think it's great but, I concede that maybe they're marketing tactics and wording are wrong - ultimately leading to the disappointment shown by the general community.
Charging for "accessories" such as this is for the roll players who are really into the game and likely to play it more than once *raises her hand*. I'm looking at these items like I would clothing in a store - do I really want to pay money for them? Will I really ware them? These don't fit my in-game life style and feel no need to purchase them. But a new sniper rifle will like get me to lay down some cash. BW is going to put out a lot of little things like this because it will appeal to some players somewhere. Getting Garrus new armor that doesn't have a gaping hole in it was really important to me
To the people complaining about DLC long after people have finished the game, I state again, these are directed to the roll players who were already playing through the game more than once.
Offering up mission based DLC for less money or free is a way to bring people "back" to the game. It's extended marketing to try and change "once through" gamers into repeat players - and once you're a repeat player you might really want to go back and pick up some of these little extras if just to try them out. And the price point is right for that.
I know, it really is that boring. I do get insomnia every now and again and even I felt sleepy doing those monotonous chores.Jenova65 said:My poor, poor thumbs and my poor brain, but honestly if I ever suffer insomnia I am planet scanning, because it seriously (literally) sends me to sleep!MiracleOfSound said:'Tis a masterpiece alright.
