New Overwatch Comic, Binary, Stars Bastion

Blizzard's newest Overwatch comic follows everyone's favorite turret buddies, Torbjorn and Bastion.

Last week, Blizzard promised that it would step things up with the released for free [https://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20753536370?page=2#post-32].

Binary takes place in rural Sweden just after the titular Overwatch has been disbanded. Locals spot a rogue Bastion unit (which turns out to be the Bastion) roaming the woods, and enlist the help of Torbjorn to put an end to its "reign of terror". But, as Bastion's animated short [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/168197-Overwatch-The-Last-Bastion-Animated-Short#&gid=gallery_6415&pid=1] showed us, he's not such a bad dude, and the pair end up forging a friendship together.

You can read the comic for free online, or download and print it as a .PDF [http://comic.playoverwatch.com/issues/overwatch/11/en-us/pdf/comic-overwatch-bastion.pdf] if you'd prefer. Binary was written by Blizzard's Matt Burns and James Waugh, and illustrated by Joe Ng and Espen Grundetjern.

Well you were quick. Not even the Overwatch forums have noticed yet, and they usually respond to change like somebody farted and no-one is taking the blame for it.

I got an email from Blizzard PR so I suppose that gives me a slight advantage :p

I liked the character development we see from Torbjorn in this comic. We get more insight into why he's so salty about omnics and the crisis, but he's now starting to come around to the idea that omnics are capable of changing for the better. I hope we get to see more of the two together in the future.

He was a Man who, built a bot!
It was a killer, but maybe not!
He took it home for his wife and kids to see!
And now they're one big family!
It's just Their Lindholm Life!

The theme song for Torbjorn's upcoming sitcom.

I'm kinda shocked at how fast Torb flipped. Shoulda been another 2 pages of him figuring out what's going on before coming to a decision, IMO, really.

Still, really adorable comic. Torb's face when he got a gift at the end was priceless. XD

Bastion continues to be the most adorable character in Overwatch. I wonder how long it's gonna be until Blizzard give it a sexy pose to confuse people.

Yeah, ditto. I can buy Torb taking a softer view on omnics over time. Having that shift over the course of a single comic is a leap too far.
