The best? The great Reshiram takes to the cake. <3
The truth is, Reshiram doesn't hold a candle to true Pokemon powerhouses. Zekrom is clearly the ideal Pokemon.
Sure, Zekrom may be the ideal Pokemon, but the truth is Reshiram is far Serperior.

Red picked Bulbasaur in the Manga.

That is a funny way of saying Charmander is the best starter.
I agree, Squirtle is the best starter.

Bulbasaur was the first pokemon in the pokedex. Scyther is still my fav

Pokemon keeps getting more and more useless sequels , prequels and reboots, while geniuenly good anime which actual decent writting and animation only get maybe a second season if they are very very lucky.

I hate you pokemon.

[sub]Yeah, this is getting a little out of hand...[/sub]
How dare you kick over that plant pot! What's the point in such violence?

I! I don't... I just don't even....

OT: I hope this turns out to actually be worth watching, unlike the last ten years of the anime.
Amen. I'm sincerly hoping this gets popular,if not only so I get enjoy watching a Poke'mon anime again. (I watched up to the one involving the Poke'mon from Ruby/Sapphire,but I got bored quick after that.) Not to mention,I'd like to see an adaptation of the manga I've heard about. I even hear the original creator's ideas of what he wanted to do clashed with those of I think, 4Kids. He wanted a more mature story, with Red as the lead, with a changing cast. Which he got with the Poke'mon Adventures manga.
The first season of the anime is pretty good and actually holds up well, but after that it went downhill quickly, partially because it's so limp and safe and nothing is ever dangerous, and partially because Ash is an utterly shit pokemon trainer.

An adaptation of the manga, or a more serious OVA with Red as the hero is just what it'd take for me to give a shit about pokemon animations.

I just hope Charmander learns Metal Claw and he catches a Manky before he faces Brock!
Oddly enough ember is more damaging, typically, than metal claw against Brock's rock types.

Why?

Because Charmander has much better special attack than physical, and gets a STAB bonus of 1.5x on Ember, Brock's pokemon also have poor special defence and sky high physical defence. So ember is a better option.

Though Manky is still the best option because low kick.

it feels like the fma vs fma brotherhood thing not sure which is which yet
Well, when you put it like that... *inhales* FMA was a great series that deviated heavily away from its manga counterpart and its ending and movie followup were... well... debatable, in terms of a satisfying overall conclusion... (Which I feel that's where it mainly failed at...) while Brotherhood felt like a retread of FMA in the beginning only to follow more closely to the manga itself... and its ending (in my opinion) was way more satisfying of a conclusion than FMA... and the movie spinoff was just more icing to the cake... *exhales*

With that said, I do feel this Pokemon series will be the "Brotherhood" to the original Pokemon series, which is way more of an accurate comparison than the other Pokemon series that comes to mind right now (like Chronicles and... Mystery Dungeon?). With that said, based on the trailer alone, it does feel that way... and considering the non-limitations that both Red and Green have as far as legit background knowledge between them... this series can go in any sort of direction, in terms of character development...

I await to watch this series the same way I watch all of my subbed anime... online and on my laptop...

(But, actually, I thought I would be proven wrong or something... Does that mean we're at an agreement... or an impasse?)

Weird, indeed... *disregards own flashbacks* But, I should be thanking you for that "FMA vs Brotherhood" reminder, otherwise I would not have noticed that at first glance... So, thank you!

This might be the first time in around eight years that I'll watch a Pokemon anime.

No Bulbasaur? Gross. Sometimes I'll overlook horrible mistakes.

I see neither Ash nor Red as real characters. Red was a voiceless personification of you in the video game. Ash's personality and flaws were made for the sole purpose to help sell the merchandise to children and extend the show.

Perhaps this show will change that, but Nintendo has a problem with comes to actual talking characters.
Red was a character, he was originally in that pokemon manga, the one that wasn't all that kid friendly and remembered that pokemon could just attack/kill the opposing trainers instead of each other. The game came after and was originally based on the manga.

Humm looks worth keeping an eye on. Got to wander if it is going in a different direction or just keep it the same with a slightly different art style and new voice actors, would not mind seeing a darker world like that of the manga but guess we will see.

Wonder if Ash's spell finally wear off, thus aging the eons he's probably old at this point, turning him into dust. That would explain this new series' existence.

Could you link me to this manga? I am pretty sure, if this manga is real, is actually based on the games and not the other way around.

I was thinking of pokemon adventures, and after looking it up, you`re right, it was based on the games, but that doesn't mean they didn't give red a character, and given just how much they changed from the games it can't really be counted as the same thing.
