New Pokemon Anime returns to series roots

Well, remember those people who asked for a pokemon series more like the original and not the current one? Well, it looks like that wish has been granted as there is a new anime coming up and it looks AMAZING!


So, what are your thoughts?

I stopped caring about the anime yeeeeeeeears ago because it just got weird. I think I'd watch it now, and I wonder if Gary is gonna play a bigger role now since he was a big damn deal in the actual game.

This is good cause its simply something new, i have talked non stop about how the anime should restart with another games character (heart gold even black and white), and even though it a mini series *shrug* baby steps.

It look interesting which I'm guessing it could be a different continuity with Ash and co? I mean how are they going to explain Proff Oak and another Gary aka Blue?
Still I hoped this series will be somewhat more seriously, when I mean serious I mean now having Team Rocket keep trying to kidnap the character first starter Pokemon for whatever reasons.

Cool, but I wonder if this one will actually go anywhere, rather then just repeat the same damn formula every single week like the last anime has been doing for 10+ years? It's sad to, because at the beginning the original Pokemon show did have potential. It could have actually done something and gone somewhere...

My thoughts. I don't care so much if it follows the manga as much as if it's as good. Although, really, the manga totally deserves an anime adaptation.

Could you back that up, by chance? Because from what I see it looks like this will go at least until Drake and the Champion fight, so it seems like it's willing to go the entire way there.
Unless of course it goes the way of cutting out everything other than the important bits like Gym Battles, then that would make sense.

I was always liked having the rival be mean. As the games progressed, the rivals have become to nice. Most of time I don't care about beating them because there is no hostility between us. I would love to see a Gary type character in gen 6 that's coming out. Always cracked me up because Gary seemed like a way better trainer than Ash in the anime.

I know what you mean, i kind of liked how gen 3 was different and gen 4 was still ok but then we had another 2 games of the rival being our friend, i want the next rival to be an ass at some points atleast

Hey, Thunder Armour was an awesome move. And the show made it clear that cheating was allowed, so I learnt a lot.

Totally agree. I liked rivals acting like rivals, and I'm totally fine with a friendly rivalry as long as it makes sense. It always killed me in the anime that Gary was a way better trainer than Ash and somehow he managed to pull through despite being an idiot now that you mentioned it. I'm just hoping for a better rival in the next generation because the other ones were quite forgettable, and I didn't really care for them.

Also, why hasn't Thunder Armor become a move already? Because I would use the hell out of it, but with our luck it would probably be a crappy defensive move.
