New Skyward Sword Trailer Shows Off Link's Arsenal

Despite the name, Skyward Sword isn't just about the blades.

You can't have a Legend of Zelda game without the hero packing some serious gear. Link has got some new toys in Skyward Sword [http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Skyward-Sword-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002BSC54I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317810521&sr=8-2], some of which Nintendo is showing off - along with some old favorites - in a new and slightly-too-short trailer.

The trailer contains old classics, like the bow and slingshot, as well as new items like the beetle and Link's sand blower contraption. There's also the double clawshot, which interestingly first made its appearance as a treasure in the City in the Sky dungeon in Twilight Princess. Whether that city is what became of Skyloft is hard to tell, but as Twilight Princess [http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Twilight-Princess-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B000FQBPCQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1317810548&sr=1-1] is set hundreds of years after Skyward Sword it's certainly not outside the realms of possibility.

As the trailer is less than a minute long, I'd have liked to have seen it get to the gear a little bit quicker. It's still an interesting trailer though, made better by the fact there's still more equipment we haven't seen yet. You can watch the full video here. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword comes out for Wii on November 20th.

Nothing all that new in this video, but that's okay. In fact, I should probably stop clicking on Skyward Sword video links from now on, and just wait for the release...

to bad the the guy doesn't do the tried and true technique of holding up your shield and stabstabstabstabstab.

I don't think you linked to the right video, I didn't see anything about the Double Clawshot in that.

Was that the right trailer? The only item in it was the beetle. And some guy who I hope just sucks at the game, because he seems to be having some trouble and I want the game to be responsive and fun. Okami already cornered the "completely, utterly broken, and unplayable adventure game" market, so Skyward Sword had better work properly.

What was that bar by the shield? Magic, or Shield strength? Because if it's the latter, I'm hesitant. Not like it will affect anything, I'm going to buy it either way, let's get real here, but still. And ooh, we're back to weapon upgrades in chests, huh? I can live with it.

I can't determine whether or not it is a good thing that the man in the promo video had a difficult time with enemies. Is it the damn controls or has the combat finally become strenuous and challenging?
