Yay, Spidey!
I thought Shattered Dimensions was a good brawler, so I'm looking forward to another Spidey game.

THe 90's disagree's.Semudara said:Why does he look muscled in that image? Spider-Man isn't muscley.
At any rate, this sounds like it could be a cool game with a compelling story. Yes, Spider-Man games have oscillated between mediocre and rather good, but that gives this game about a 50% chance of being rather good!

Ghost rider 2099 had a chainsaw hand... that was on fire. Plus the last ghost rider game was based on the moive (I think) which wasn't up to much.JMan said:If they did make another Ghost Rider game I hope it will be way better than the last one. All it was was a terrible God of War ripoff, right down to Ghost Rider's weapons.alrekr said:OR mabye Ghost Rider 2099 or any Ghost Rider.
We can only dream, can't we? Though my first thought was, "Wait, so Peter Parker is a Time Lord now?"canadamus_prime said:Did anyone else picture Spider-man teaming up with Doctor Who when they read the title?
Edit: Of the thread, I mean.
You're not alone I thought it was aces!GreatTeacherCAW said:Apparently I am the only one who somewhat enjoyed Shattered Dimensions.
Yeah, if it's free roaming then colour me interested. Web swinging around in a future NYC as 2099 sounds fantasticare.you.the.god.its.me.vader said:That is some gorgeous artwork. Hopefully it will have free roaming!
Maybe it's just me but spiderman has never ever done anything that made me think his invovlement could create a interesting story that's really worth listening too. The only thing that made spiderman an interesting character is pretty much his ability to swing around new york and spout one liners that are sometimes kinda funny. Oh and that teen angst was a telling point once upon a time. To me super heroes like spiderman and say superman and the sort are kinda like the protagonist in a heavy action orientated manga. Really sort of plain by the numbers characters taken from a stock and given a one or two hooks that make it different from everyone else but really it's just more of the same but just looks different.Draksila said:Everyone keeps going back to Spider-Man 2 as the game to beat all Spidey games, but here's the deal... free roaming only works in certain story structures. With how the story for Shattered Dimensions played out, free roaming would not have worked. Maybe it will in this title, maybe it won't, but the point is that the game's mechanics should be built in service to the story and not vice versa. If it's a tighter story arc that doesn't involve randomly wandering around New York beating up purse snatchers and running races, then personally I think it's better off without those options.
