I think it looks pretty cool! There´s Thor, Loki, Odin, frost giants and the Destroyer! So...what do you think? Is it a worthy entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Or is it the first step towards failure regarding the upcoming Avengers movie?

EDIT: Whoops! Looks like the embedding was disabled. Just click the link.

Certainly looks interesting, i'm more a history nut than a comic book nut, so i'm not sure what my take on it will be. Still, i'm just happy to see a film based around the Viking god's and Thor even if it is actually based on a comic book. We'll see, i'll probably go and see it in cinema's when it comes out.

Edit: For sentimental reasons, i hope they release it on a Thursday....(Oh noes, historical pedanticism kicking in already)

Watching...

Wow, that looks awesome. I was skeptical, not being a Thor fan nor one of the whole mixing the seriousness of Iron Man's film world with one of the Gods of Asgard.

But now.... can't wait. Looks just awesome in every way.

Cool, I never looked into Thor that much but this movie looks pretty good.

I may have to check it out when it is released.

Watching, loving, Okay title sequence...

What the hell? Did somebody see Deathly Hallows and like it so much they wanted to rip off the background and font, and then break it all to bits?

Other than that, good trailer and what looks like a good movie.

Aww yeah.

I'm really excited for both this and Captain America. Then after those two... AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

Black and Asian Norse gods?
What?
Well Viking raiders and traders did historically visit quite far south on the west african coastline at some points (as well as the failed colonisation of North America). Likewise Vikings were popular mercenaries in Constantinople, there was the Varangian guard which was a viking bodyguard to the emperors. So it's not completely crazy that Vikings might come in contact with traders from Asia.

However in the comics, Hogun (the one who looks like a mongol) is not actually an Aesir, he's from another pantheon that shares borders/realities with Asgard. He's been accepted as an Asgardian though and eats the golden fruit that grants them immortality. As for Heimdall (black guy with big helmet and weird eyes) well he's white in the comics, so I've got no explaination.

There was pretty extensive trade with the Arab nations back in the 7th and 8th centuries. They even had carpentry kits that were a sort of ikea of the day that made building a cart to carry the long boat on land a fairly simple process.

There are also accounts from about the same period where mongols and chinese traders encoutered wild eyed maniacs from the west with pale skin, blue eyes and red/blonde hair.

OT: I'm looking forward to it Kenneth Branagh is a great director. I love that actor who plays the agent, he's so deadpan but funny.

Isn't this pretty old?

Looks good anyways.
This trailer debuted yesterday. Perhaps you are referring to the leaked Comic-Con video? The footage is similar, but there´s a couple of new money shots in this one. The editing in this trailer is also better in my opinion.

Oh, didn't know that was leaked. Quite possibly because ohmygoditsthor.

And even after the initial hype, I'm still pretty exited for this.

Now let's just hope Thor, as the protagonist, knows what's going on trough the whole movie as the trailer suggests. It would be oh, so refreshing.

This...definitely has promise. I like the idea of magic and technology seen as one and the same. It's definitely different from a lot of other things I've seen.

So...question is: How is Stan Lee going to make a cameo THIS time?
