New Video Shows off Dark Souls III: The Ringed City Gameplay

Bandai Namco has released a four-minute-long video showcasing gameplay from the upcoming final downloadable content for Dark Souls III, titled The Ringed City. In the upcoming DLC, players will be pursuing the Slave Knight Gael "to the literal end of the world."

The video warns that it may contain spoilers, so as always, watch at your own risk.

"Dark Souls III: The Ringed City brings players toe-to-claw against massive beasts in a twisted descent into the bowels of the end of the world," said Jason Enos, Director of Brand and Latin American Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc, in a press release when the DLC was announced. "FromSoftware has crafted visually arresting environments that evoke a sense of destroyed beauty and nail biting encounters that will leave players breathless for more."

The Ringed City will be available on March 28 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $14.99. There is also a season pass available for $24.99, and that gives you access to Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City.

Well this is a trailer, and whats in the trailer appears to be early areas of the DLC + more footage of the boss in the announcement.

And of course, no NPCs talking about anything.

So no spoiler clause applies here.

That said, things of note;
-Humanity specters
-An "angel" that appears to be using Lothric-style miracles
-Knight type enemy that uses a sword with fire weapon arts and an offhand flamethrower. Presumably theese weapons will be obtainable somewhere.
-Wall area that is swamped with archers, appears to be a puzzle area rather than a combat encounter
-Fire-demon-gargoyle boss is actually a dual boss at first, with the other specialising in ranged attacks just like the Belfry Gargoyles. I doubt its the final boss of the area.

Hm...I would say there's at least one spoiler. Dropping that far down would have been a nice surprise going in blind to.

Anyway, that knight looked like a Darkwraith, but...stronger. He also seemed to have an evolved form on the Dark Sign on his chest, as if he's had it for so long that it's reached a new stage.

At this point the savvy Souls player always knows to expect some fuckery from FromSoft.

If the Crowns trilogy in Dark Souls 2 didnt awaken at least 2 senses for detecting traps and ambushes then Bloodborne definitely did while i was purging the chalice dungeons.

They do resemble Darkwraiths, but i dont get why they would brand themselves with a Darksign like that and trade in thier signature weapons. Even if theyre actual hollows now, they had to get thier new kit from somewhere.

Maybe Bloodborne is leaking back into Souls and the Powder Kegs gave them some flamers.

Either way, answers in the DLC i suppose.

Looks interesting. I'm just hoping this makes up for the first DLC. If it's as good as it looks, it's gonna make it harder to wait for the complete(Prepare to Sin First?) edition of DS3(which is literally the only reason I don't own it yet).

If we're really lucky, we'll get some closure on what the Serpents have been up to all this time.
