What's your guys' opinion of the new dashboard on the xbox?

i personally am a bit annoyed they didnt get rid of the godawful zune video section, where things take half a minute to load and the pictures of the videos are in horrible resolution and no particular order. also i cant seem to find the weekly deal, and they never said what cloud gaming is. theres a video explaining how to use it, but not nowhere in it do they say what it is and why its there. (i have since looked it up)

First, at the OP:

1) For weekly deals, check the game marketplace tab. One of the sections on the right hand side says Sales. It's pretty obvious.

2) I suggest you watch the video again for Cloud Gaming, I found they explained it pretty well. Essentially though, imagine it as a small, half gig, hard drive online and not actually on any of your drives. Then imagine going to a friend's house. Instead of having to bring a USB drive with you with the save you wanted on it, you could instead sign onto your profile there and have access to that half gig online drive. The point of it is to eliminate the need for a USB stick to bring with you and make it more easy to play your profile on another Xbox.

As for my opinion on it, it's a change, but it isn't really good or bad. It's not like a Youtube layout change or anything. I like the general look of it more and the layout of the tabs and icons. I also really don't see why everyone is up in arms over the ads on it. They take up two windows on the main screen, and your default position isn't even on them, I really don't see a huge problem with it. I also found it easier to find and access the sales that are going on, though I did find getting to my avatar more annoying.

The cloud saves (not gaming; cloud gaming is something different) is essentially a memory card that's located on the internet. You can only access it while on the internet (obviously), but your saves won't disappear from there.

As for me? Well, I certainly think it's aesthetically pleasing. The problem is that its function still isn't so great. I want the blades back, the original dashboard that they had. Please? And I don't mean the Guide button, either, I mean the good ol' blades.
yes! i want the original setup back too

ya, i actually went and found it right after posting this. but the reason why we hate the advertisements is because we pay quite a bit of money for Live. usually when you pay money for something, one of the things you'll get in return is no advertisements because the company is getting your cash and doesnt need money from the ads. plus that space could be used for something else that we DO want, such as making the weekly deal more noticeable!
