Next Starbound Update to Focus on Interplanetary Travel

Starbound's next update will give a complete overhaul to the navigation interface, allowing players to travel wherever, however.

Last we heard from Chucklefish's space simulator over 2 million copies [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/starbound] and had a big patch in the works. Now, we know a little about what that patch will entail. It's going to focus on the interplanetary exploration aspect of the game, by adding not just a bunch of new space-faring vehicles, but completely re-hauling the navigation interface. Here's a sneak peek:

"Space isn't just about stars and planets, it's about the space between them, so you'll now be able to fly freely around systems and explore all kinds of new locations, from space stations to traveling merchant ships to mysterious derelicts! Systems won't just be static, either - moons orbit planets, planets orbit stars, and rich opportunities come and go, rewarding patient explorers with brand new perils and plunder!" wrote the developer in a blog post.

There's still no exact release date for the new patch, but stay tuned!

Are they going to have the same sort of completely static, level-based generation as all the planets got stuck with at official launch?

I'm kinda hoping they'll add cappable ships, I like the idea and design of Novakids, but the space train ship is just horrible.

More empty nothing to do nothing in. Pardon me, to "explore". That's terrible.
Why do they not understand what makes games fun? Do they hate fun?
The game had so much potential but all I see them do with it is garbage like mech suits or prettier level select screens that you will use for 5 seconds and then stop because they forgot to add a reason to use it that goes beyond "because it's there".
