I've been going around NG+ and am about to go off to NG++ and was wondering if there is something to be done with all the Sublime Bone Dust and Estus Flask Shards that I have leftover. Also the Boss Souls of which I really don't want a weapon or the Giant Souls, do they have any other uses?

I'm just farming for Covenant levels :p

You can sell the bone dust and estus flask shards to Gavlan I'm guessing, and you can crunch the boss souls to get souls, and use those to buy upgrade materials. Maybe in NG++ you'll want to try a different weapon or armor set or something and it would be nice to immediately have them upgraded.

Other than that I really can't think of anything you can use that stuff for.

Yeah, don't always use the same weapons when going to a new game. Maybe infuse a weapon and try something new, it'll make the game more fun.

Don't be afraid to consume boss souls. You most likely won't even use the weapon, because most of the time there is a better alternative to boss weapons.

Keep at least 5 Souls of the Giant, if you have them, it sets Vendricks defenses to its normal levels, all others you can consume, same goes for boss souls if you already have the weapons or spells you want from them. Since Estus has a maximum of 12 charges at +5, anything beyond that cant be upgraded so extra sublime bone dust and estus shards you can sell to gavlan.

Yeah, I was thinking on spending all of them, but they look so nice in my inventory! Either way, I think I'll just farm for my favorite weapons and armor and just continue on to NG++ and try to make a bonefire-less run.

What do you guys think I should take with me?

Maybe we'd be able to tell you if we knew what level you are an what equipment you have.

Ah so dumb of me.

I'm 250 level and have various equips I use. For soul farm I use Warlocks helmet, Nahr's Robes and Tsledorra Manchettes and Trousers. For equip farm I use the Jester Hat, Prisioners Tatters and whatever wrist and bottoms.

I'm a more or less tank with, 60 faith, leveling up int I'm at 22, and rather mobile build. Using Smelters Torso, Mad Warrior Helm, Vestaldt Leggings and Engraved Gauntlets. I use the Third Dragon Ring, Chloranthy +2, Ring of Life Protection (because I hate losing my souls) and the other ring varies from Covetous Silver and Gold +2 to Ring of Blades +2. All this is for PvE only.

My weapons of choice are: Craftsman Hammer +5 a Black Dragon Shield (because it's so light <3) and a Dragon Chime +5. I also use the Black Dragon equip from time to time.

I've tried many builds but this Craftsman Hammer build is my favorite in PvE because of its power and mobility.

Thanks!

Now completely change your build and the way you play. Use a soul vessel to change around your stats, go for a high mobility full dex build with light armor and a bow as your ranged option. No magic or miracles, no tanking, and no heavy weapons.

It's fun to change up your play style.

Yeah, I've been wanting to change my playstyle. I might swap to that light build!

Thanks!

If you're going to go with my advice about using a dex build with a bow I suggest you spend a chunk of your souls buying as many arrows as you can carry. At the start of the game there aren't a lot of places to get arrows except for the blacksmith in Majula, and he only sells an unlimited supply of wooden arrows, which kind of suck. You don't get an unlimited supply of iron arrows until you've gone through the iron keep and unlock McDuff as a merchant.

If you are looking to change up your playstyle, but you don't have the required mats for it, I would advice doing so before going into NG++, and start farming like crazy at the Dragons Aerie. If you go about it with Lightning, Dark or Magic, you'll make enough mats to upgrade 3 weapons and 3 sets of armor to their fullest potential in an hour or two. It costs a hefty price of bonfire ascetics, and the area will forever be a dangerzone, but it is one of the easiest areas in the game to run past without striking into hindrance. so it doesn't really matter what level it is at.

Also, keep 5 Giants souls at the least. Having any more of them doesn't add anything, but having less can make it annoying if you want to kill Vendrick again (his soul unlocks 3 items after all).

If you are planning to make a foolhardy attempt to do the no bonfire no death on NG++, for the love of all that is holy, buy a shit-ton of Repair Powder from Chancellor Wellanger and Amber Herbs from Ornifex. They sell ad-finitum even on NG, so get all of that. It will enable you to compensate for the lack of resting at a bonfire. And play on Offline, or get upset by invaders.

Anything other than that.... I dunno. There really isn't much change between NG+ and over, only enemies with, like 10% more health and damage and a few spells are unlocked in shops for purchase.

Hope it helps.
