Assuming this isn't sarcasm, I agree. Contrary to what some people believe, not all parents have the time to be able to watch over their kid every second of the day. I could understand the complaint that there's much safer things a child could be doing than playing on the internet, but you're not going to expect any damage to be done by allowing a kid on a child-friendly website. Not only does Addicting Games host flash games with sexual content on them, there's also some extremely violent and inappropriate games such as Kitten Cannon that they have no business playing.

One could also perhaps argue that if the child is smart enough to find the link or enter the link in to the site they're capable of doing much worse and perhaps I understand that, but this nonsense that a child should be watched every single second of every single day (while it would be perfect and extremely beneficial) is simply not practical, and some people need to lighten up.

Oh, boo hoo. A flash game website hosts some 'naughty' games that kids might see if they were to look hard. Wake up, CCFC. Isn't two-thirds of the whole internet occupied by porn? AddictingGames.com is the least of your worries, you might as well go after Google since you can get hundreds of pages full of tits in a few clicks on their site.
The argument isn't about what's on the internet but rather what's accessible to small children on the internet. A five year old, much like a senior citizen, isn't as smart as you and me and while entering some jibberish on Google may link to pages of pornography, as elementary as it may be to us, a child is not going to have the capabilities of doing that. This site glorifies the games that it hosts, but then creates the opportunity for children who see the word "games" to find another site that they think they'll be interested in, and they simply don't need to be seeing murder and sex (not the act specifically) at that young of an age.

Seems like a pretty reasonable request to ask Nickelodeon to take down the link. Hopefully they will oblige and just be done with it. At least I didn't read in the article anything about the "magic word", which is a nice change of pace.

I dunno the previous generation seems just as bad about that, maybe not the political correctness but they act like everything sucks now and things were way better when there were fuel shortages and the threat of nuclear annihilation around every corner.

Personally I think there are way too many of these parental guardian groups or whatever they are. What we actually need is either responsible parents or a standardized test to see if people are parenting material. Given the fact the world is overpopulated it can only be an improvement.

And yes I do realize I just essentially backed eugenics but it's hard not to see some people are far too stupid or irresponsible to raise children.

Lol, yes! WE are the perfect generation.

in my opinion theres nothing wrong with them linking a game site. Its not like they're telling the kids which games to play on.

There was a game about gunning down people in bloody gore, and doing it more often gives you better guns. You can also click on the needle attachment, which gives you an adrenalin rush (and more points!). This was on the front page of AddictingGames, along with a game about spanking naughty celebrities. Honestly, the CCFC did not have to look far.

And a kid could very easily come across this. After all, Nick is kid-safe and there's a link with 'games' written in the damned title.

Instead of stating the same ol', I'll quote Darthzew up there:

Yeah, originally, I was kinda up in arms about the whole Political correction thing too, but taking a step back, it does seem like this stuff was way too easy to get to... I mean, it wouldn't be an issue if it didn't link from nick, but since it does...

I mean, I wouldn't like it if nickjr linked to newgrounds, for instance(old site reference is old...)

Anyway, this is the internet, so its only a matter of time before someone wandering aimlessly stumbles upon an eyeful of sumtin', and nick DID have Invader Zim(Bloody Gir easter egg, look it up.) but I'm with Darthzew and Quaidis here.

I'd never even heard of the site until now. It doesn't look like something that will pull me away from Kongregate any time soon, though. Anyway, the mature-themed games have an icon to designate them as such. "Sorority Panty Raid" even has a disclaimer at the beginning. If parents are allowing their children to use the internet without any sort of supervision, then the internet isn't the problem here.

As up-in-arms about the Internet, games and guns, I have to agree with this. It's nothing major, it's just removing a few words from the HTML coding. But I think that the CCFC is over-reacting a bit. I mean it's a simple, "Hey mind taking off this link?" "Sure, we'll get right on that." and everyone lives happily ever after. I'm sure they made a whole big deal about it for media attention, but if that's the case: They didn't get it, haven't heard anything about it anywhere else other than here. I'm mad that the took off Invader Zim as well, the bloody Gir did disturb me alittle because who's blood is it? But that shouldn't mean that I should never watch Nickelodeon again, I mean, hey they still have SpongeBob. Even there there are some adult refrences to it (well in the earlier episodes that is).

If the parents aren't watching their own damn kids they can hardly blame someone else for what happens.

Oh for petes sake blind as hell memory-loss parents are just the best aren't they?

Do they not remember how they used to giggle when passing around a dirty magazine clipping, or meet in secret to look at their dads dirty mag collection, without getting caught.
And how they used to talk in gleeful fervor about anything disgusting and distasteful they could think of...?

It's exactly the bloody same. Kids are not saints, they find a way to get around the barriers of innocence because truthfully they're horrible little monsters alot of the time. Less deal you make out of it the less attributed to real life appeal it generates.

Now get it off nick and let your kids find those game sites the same way most kids do. Through other stupid kids.

Wow, I can't believe people are just going "Oh wow, parents should watch their children!" What, parents are now supposed to stand behind their children 24 hours a day as they play their inane games on the computer? It's one thing to complain about those things merely existing, and another entirely to complain about they being advertised on a TV station aimed mostly at children. Plus, they're not asking that the content be removed and deleted and the servers that contained it be burnt and thrown into the ocean. They're just asking that the naughty flash games and the friendly kids shown aren't directly connected.

It's not the end of the world. Freedom of expression won't end over it, really.

Also, I had no idea Addictive (Addicting?) Games belonged to nickelodeon. It looked lame to me, really.
