Unofficially the largest industry in Nigeria is the Nigerian scam. Possibly larger than the petroleum exports.. with hundreds of millions from dumb Americans being reported as stolen and an estimated amount up to 10x that not reported to authorities... Coupled with 150 million euro's from UK reported stolen and multiplied by every affluent country in the world that speaks English and you can see the Nigerian scam is big business.
