No, my friend, you don't tell other people what they can or can't find funny.

Don't ever watch any of the Monty Python movies, Jean Pierre Jeunet's films or any Six Feet Under. I think they might offend you.

I am now also finding funny the image of someone crying while watching wrestling, does that earn me more insults and abuse?
Nope, I don't honestly care what you think anymore, I can watch humerous use of death, theres a difference between laughing at a comedy and laughing at real life. You seem to forgot where the line between real and fake was, or simply blurred.
Comedy is a reflection of reality. Ever watch South Park? You'd love the Steve Irwin episode.

I will tell you why it is funny... irony.

The kid died from falling 90 feet.

They blame a wrestling game for it... my point was that if they're going to blame the sport or the game, then the idea is so ridiculous that they may as well blame a dead wrestler who did the same thing.

Sure, you might not find it funny and that's fair enough. But I do.

Couple of bits- Don't wrestling games actually have a screen saying "DON'T DO THIS SHIT!!!!"? I know the NFS series have a movie at the start saying "don't drive like a prat in real life", and I'm 90% sure it's the same with wrestling.

Also- Wrestling? Parachuting? Now, admittedly I haven't played a wrestling game in about 6 years, but back then there was no jumping-off-of-a-roof-onto-an-opponent special move. If they'd said GTA:SA (which has parachutes in it), or one of the many flying/war sims that allow you to jump from planes, that would be fair enough. But a Swan dive? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that performed from 5-6 FEET (not even 5-6 FLOORS :p) onto the floor?

As I said, I haven't played a wrestling game in ages, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed THAT much

.... Has it?

This is a sad and tragic event for the friends and family of this child. My condolences to them all. Normally in death we have something to "blame" or a reason for it. Cancer, heart attack, drunk driver etc... But in this case we really don't have that one reason for it. The bad thing about this is when we go looking for a reason when there isn't any real reason for this death. In the end, no matter who we "blame" or what ever reason we come up with, it will not bring him back.

This.

The mother has no one to blaim but herself, i know it sounds like a horrible thing to say but there is a reason why there are age limitations on games, ITS BECAUSE NO ONE UNDER THAT AGE SHOULD PLAY IT!

I feel sorry for the friends of the child though, they certainly didnt deserve to loose a friend like this, but the mom is a dumbass and should not even be allowed to have children.

To be fair, I dont feel bad.

Its not the games fault that the kid was an idiot.

And his mother would be an idiot if she would blame the game.

Warning: Anyone who has seen wrestling on TV without facepalming might have caught idiotism, and should try flying.

Its a shame this happened.

Seriously though, Wrestling had nothing to do with this. He jumped off of a really tall building.

Yeah, I think a game should be the last thing to be blamed for poor parenting, poor guardian supervision, poor security, and a stupid, stupid child.

When I was his age, I never remotely considered jumping off roofs while imitating Mario's flying cape in Super Mario World.

Yes! Let's blame video games or the sister or the parents even though it was entirely the kid's fault.

Hell knows the stupid stuff i did as a kid, and we always did them WHEN WE WERE SURE NO ADULT WAS WATCHING!

So it can't be entirely be the parents', the sister's or the sitter or anyone's fault but the kid's own stupidity.

Same thing happened years ago when Dragonball came out when a kid jumped from a building and called for the magic cloud or whatever its the name in english.

If you wondering nothing showed up and the kid died.
It's called "Flying Nimbus" in English. Also, there was once a case when a little kid came to school with a gun, shot a few people, and then told authorities something about how he thought they would come back to life like in his video game. To my understanding, that was around the time people started blaming video games for all of the problems with today's youth. THAT WAS ONE TIME!!!! How about those violent movies and parents who let their LITTLE KIDS expose themselves to violent subject matter, when they are obviously too young and immature to understand that it is NOTHING like real life? To me, video games are a form of escapism, the only place where you should ever "kill" your friends, or for that matter, yourself. Teach your kids that fantasy and real life are not linked at all, and they'll be fine. Stop blaming entertainment for death.

I place blaming on parents more than I do video games, really. Wrestling, really? Something that violent should come nowhere near the hands of a nine year old.

Hmm... How do we know that he was imitating Smackdown vs RAW? It seems to me more like a parachute stunt gone wrong. It's easy to point the finger at a game, but the game is an imitation of pro wrestling, and I don't even think that deserves the blame.

All my condolences to the family, but the responsibility doesn't lie with wrestling or games. The child should've been better looked after if you ask me.

The mother LEFT HIM WITH HIS SISTER. ITS HER FAULT. Why is it when someone jacks a car and runs people over its GTA that's made them do it. Soon we are gonna have russia invade a country and people will be saying, oh yeah, its because of Red Alert he did that. Where will it end?

I'd like to see something good about games, in the news, like "boy rescues princes after playing years of Mario". THEN I WILL START TO BELIEVE GAMES INFLUENCE US.

Now, Im gonna go smoke, not cos I saw it on a game, just I want to smoke.

As a fan of pro wrestling myself, I sadly see articles like this a lot. I understand why kids would want to imitate wrestling, as they see it as this larger than life performance of two guys hitting big flashy fighting moves on each other, but they don't realize just how careful the guys actually doing it have to be in order to prevent severe injury every night.

That being said, there really isn't too huge a connection between the actual game and jumping off a 13 story building. The wrestler in question, Jeff Hardy, is known for his crazy dives, and sometimes he does leap off of gigantic heights, but I honestly don't know if it's present in the game itself.
