Ninja is basically the Japanese word for assassin so it's a really stupid name but I dunno I suppose Rain at least looks the part.
It actually makes a wierd sort of Double Positive sense then. He's an assasin, whose out to kill Ninja's, right?

So he's a NINJA Assasin. One who assasinates Ninja's. (see the southpark debate on Ghost Pirate v Pirate Ghost). Also if you take the translation, he is an Assasins Assasin. An assasin who assasinates assasins. Or, like a Man's Man, just a burlier and more awesome version of a vanilla assasin.

yeah, i'm a dork.

Title sucks. The movie itself looks so incredibly badass that I'm going to have to go see it. I can't believe I'm saying that I want to go see a movie called Ninja Assassin but it looks amazing.

Ha ha ha! When I was in highschool my friends and I make a faux-action movie satire called Ninja Assassin. We all agreed it was the dumbest name we could think of.

nin - hidden, ja - person. Hidden person.
Actually, i think it's the other way around: nin - person, ja - hidden.
...I think I've just explained that ninjutsu = art of hiding, art of being unnoticed.

According to your explanation, ninjutsu would mean "art of being a human" or "the human art".

That is a stupid name. Here's some other ones equally stupid:

1. Fighter Warrior
2. Doctor Healer
3. Mathematician Thinker
4. Janitor Cleaner

The 'nin' in one is not necessarily the 'nin' in the other. You can likely get a detailed breakdown from someone with far more experience with the Japanese language than I.
