not really a much better answer then just to say for teh lulz really. I don't think they are what some people claim where they are doing it just for the sake of highlighting vulnerabilities. Also though its only real reason against any single company is Sony itself for removing linux and then breaking geohotz down in a court case over it

If you are serious about what you say and have already done so would you mind telling me how I can do the same. Microsoft doesn't make it easy to delete credit card info without having to sit through an hour on the phone talking to a rep to get something so simple done.

OT: Have these people nothing better to do than hacking into Sony and others alike. I'm all for the "lulz" but this stuffs getting out of hand. Why not use those skills for something more useful rather than keep people from enjoying their games.

Rule of Thumb generally goes that if it is not on TV, radio, films, a billboard, whatever, then it wouldn't really be advertising. If something that nitpicky can constitute as advertising, we better sue every politician who ever made a promise ever. Better get Genghis Khan, I heard he said that the Mongolian Empire would be the greatest in the world (just jivin' here)! Things change, stuff happens, whatever, simply taking someone on their word doesn't really cut it.

That's because if you have brains , you know they are talking about the company image, nintendo is the most friendlies companies ever, there was no point of proving anything.

Do you guys actually realize from what this SONY thing started, ... it's super simple. Sony totally disabled and prevented any further use of LINUX on the PS3 like a year or more ago, making those people angry ... that's why the FAILOVERFLOW started to get serious, that's why geohot ... that's why rage at sony , because sony did this to their self, PS3 came out with ADVERTISMENTS that it can run LINUX and was marketed OFFICIALLY.

They took LINUX away, they attacked the linux hackers who were only trying to get linux up working , NOT PIRACY, .... and they paid for it. FailOvefl0w has always stated it does not do that for piracy, and they cracked it but they wouldn't released --- idk what happened between why FO even released something ... but geohot made a jailbreak and released it based on the exploit that failoverflow made.

If they got linux to play with (they werent using linux to try to pirate it, nobody just did it because everyone was busy with other projects such as Wii ... which is what is a MORAL OF THIS WHOLE THING . HACKERS WILL ALWAYS ATTACK WHAT IS THE MOST LOCKED OUT SYSTEM - they shifted toward PS3 IMMEDIATELY as Linux was disabled in a frimware update.

That's why, if you're nice and support the customers, have a lot less chance of getting outright hacked unless you PROVOKE the attack, and sony is incompetent, their security SUCKS, they just weren't attacked before, it's really not that they had better security not by a long shot, not in a million years.

When they got linux, all were happy, nobody seriously tried or hyped hacking it for piracy, only minor stuff such as basement idiots who operate file sharing sites ... but those were 16old script kiddies they never broken anything serious to crack the PS3 ... and Sony was afraid of those kids using linux typing commands and "magically" crack it, that's how the company is totally wrong at what their perception is, only serious guys who are at college actually know stuff and those guys aren't idiots they would just hack it for lulz.

by childhood im a console gamer since we didn't had that wealth to afford PCs ... i was growing more and more hardocore with console games, you can't say anthing against the quality of nintendo's firt party titles, but soon i grown up to a PC user, currently im in college of "programming and information studies"

So... it's not a "ribbon hood" thing (where they scam and steals from corps, and "spray the love" to charities), it's just a "trainer" thing ("Hey, we found weakness, fix it!"... sounds like power trip to me...), and for SONY's case... it's more of a bully thing?

Its mainly for the lols really. I think the system atm is that people request for things to be hacked and they do it. Unless its a target they specifically want to fuck like the FBI or Sony in this case
