The online for the switch is trash.
The UI is trash. The shop is trash. The lack of features is trash. The friend code system is trash. The requirement for a mobile app is trash. The free games are trash.
The whole thing is very early 2000s.

Oh hey, it's another VG_Addict vs Nintendo thread. Are these on a regular schedule now? When's the next "Nintendo should make a powerful console" or "Nintendo doesn't have 3rd party support"?
The only time I've ever used the shop is to actually buy a game. I don't use it to discover games, or to keep track of sales, or really anything else. I do that with external third party solutions, because it is more convenient.
Also not impressed by the Switchs's wifi capabilities. It's honestly my single biggest issue with the system. Reception at any distance longer than a half dozen meters from the router is just bad, whereas none of my other wifi-capable have any trouble getting a strong signal at bigger ranges. I returned my first Switch thinking it just had a faulty antenna, and the replacement is better, but not by much. Tried all the fixes I could find, but none make an appreciable difference.
I eventually solved it by turning my laptop into a hotspot the Switch can piggyback off of. It works quite well, but its not a solution I should have to turn to.
I like the Switch on the whole and I don't play online games so most issues don't affect me, but I still agree, its online capabilities are pretty poor when stacked up against its competition.Lufia Erim said:

Funny, I only opened this thread to see how fervently Yoshi178 had jumped to Nintendo?s defense while dismissing (if not outright disparaging) the other consoles. Slightly disappointed; this thread should be at least 3 pages deep by now.Chimpzy said:
