You would really think that investors would actually know this stuff ahead of being told it.
After watching The Big Short, I am surprised our economy hasn't imploded years ago. I don't think anyone knows what the fuck is happening, they just...do.

Well I was already buying the new games so I'm going to be a part of the numbers irregardless.

However, Nintendo should sit up and watch very carefully how the phenomenon is getting people to think about Pokemon again. Maybe offer a Sun/Moon 3DS combo package after a bit of a price reduction? Rake in those sales while you can, I want you to succeed you odd company.

Makes one wonder just how desperate the Pok?mon consortium is to license out the Pok?mon franchise ...

Why would Nintendo even allow this? Or did they get overruled by Game Freak and Creature ...

Such a lousy deal too. They only get a flat license fee?

My initial reaction to reading this article: an actual, genuine, real-life "laugh out loud."

Does that make me a bad person? :3
If it does, it means I am too.

We can laugh together in hell, brother...

Why on earth would the FTC allow a company that was more or less a shell based on other companies' successes to list itself? Where was the investigation into the overall true worth/value of Facebook on its own standing? "Over a billion likes a month" means nothing in reality to a profitable company...it just sounds nice because of the word 'billion'. In truth, those billion are pieces of pennies of advertisement spending by Coca-Cola, Ford, Nissan, Century21, and so many other companies that forked over money to blast adverts at Facebook users. There was no base value!
Its a delivery platform. Likes equates to hits or activity, which means traffic generated.
You may as well say public tv or free to air tv is the also a baseless idea with no profitable activities of their own. Because they're delivery platforms. They create platforms for partners and clients to gain attention. If you think its not got any true worth, you're missing that you're not the consumer, you're the product. The advertisers are the consumers, being sold targeted audiences.

I highy doubt PKMGo will be advantageous to PKM Sun & Moon.
Either the app caters only to mobile users who don't want portable consoles, or it will keep casual PKM players from buying Sun or Moon at full price. Or at any price for that matter.
At best, no new buyer.
At worst, PKM core games will sell less than they did. And their selling value will plumet.

Why would it mean they're desperate? Mainline Pokemon Games still make money hand over fist.

Then why license it out for a pittance?

Nintendo get a pittance, it doesn't say anything about Game Freak or Creature's earnings from this outing. Again, how does this mean they're desperate? Or are you arguing that they aren't in fact doing very well despite Pokemons continued and sustained ability to print money?

So Nintendo is getting the short end of the deal here ...

Little income from Go. Lost exclusivity to Pok?mon.

As to why they would not ask for more money, they own 33% of the Pok?mon Company, I just don't understand.

most "big" investors are computers that run prediction algorythms on share change and extra data they get fed. No human ever even confirms the sales and purchases for the vast majority of stock being traded nowadays. Humans are too slow, combers beat them every time. The only time human actually wins in stock market is when he can get some information (such as secret info from inside company) that a computer could not obtain. Small time traders are dieings because they cannot compete with computers.

Or that Nintendo would've dispelled false assumptions earlier. Embarrassing.
Nintendo has no obligation to dispel any assumptions you may or may not have. especially when they were never directly asked about it apparently.

Only to lose it soon thereafter, along with a portion of your credibility.
The stock prices after the fall are still higher than they were before the rise.

Also you did the same mistake the investors did. You assumed Nintendo had credibility when they have none.

Wow, GG investors. Might want to do some actual research next time.
Why would they. They just bought cheap and sold high. They profited from this.
