No, seriously, Konosuba is the best anime I've seen in a long time...

Yesterday I burned through the first season. Today I burned through the second season. I just couldn't stop myself...this series is way too funny/entertaining to not binge through.

Any word on if there's going to be a third season? I...I must have more! MORE, DAMN YOU!!!!

P.S. the running gag of having Kazuma say things like "Yes, I'm Kazuma" every time one of the girls cries out his name as the start to one of their lines is one of the greatest running gags ever...purely because it makes fun of the anime trope of having various supporting characters in the anime start lines by shouting out the protagonist's name. :^)

Its alright, I do like the fact they poke holes in wish fulfillment animes but the humor doesn't do it for me.

That's fair enough. Humor, after all, is completely subjective. Personally I was laughing the whole way through. That's why I'm really hoping there's more.

It's in the top five easily for me. Though Overlord holds a special place in my heart. Konosuba is a close first or at least second in my favorite anime list.

If you enjoy it, that's great.

Personally, I think it's okay and decently entertaining but even a parody of some of these tropes doesn't make them feel any less tired. I'd rather watch something a little more original, while saving Konosuba for when I have nothing better.

I did like the most recent portrayal of a poisonous slime.

An excellent comedy show that isnt loaded down by excessive ecchi and even sprinkles in some political incorrectness.

Its not my favorite show of all time but it was in the year of 2016. This year its one of my favorite picks alongside Owarimonogatari.

A third season is likely, Studio DEEN are one of the few that will keep making a show due to popular demand, and they certainly arent lacking for material. Theyre even bringing back Hell Girl this year, and fucked if i know why.

But dont expect to hear anything before the winter season.

Yeah, I figured it was too soon for anything definitive. Like I said in my OP, I binged both seasons over the weekend so I was just looking for some hope to hold onto that there would be more eventually.

Not sure if this is actually confirmed, but this site says it's going to be a January 2018 release.
https://oxvo.info/kono-subarashii-season-3/

At least the 2nd OVA will be released in July 24 2017
https://myanimelist.net/anime/34626/Kono_Subarashii_Sekai_ni_Shukufuku_wo_2_OVA

Also it's getting a new game.
Trailer is about "Kazuma finding panties even though he doesn't remember using Steal Recently, and tries to find who it belongs to", no other info available besides that. Since it's going to be made by Mages/5pb, it's probably going to be a VN.

I'm not familiar with it, but if you recommend it that much I'll have to read the Light Novels.

If the light novels are as good as the anime, it'd certainly be worth it.

What is this series?
It's a parody series that pokes fun at all the "trapped in a fantasy RPG world" (such as SA:O) anime genre, and it's really, really good in doing so. At least in my opinion, of course. As I mentioned in a previous post, humor is - of course - something that varies from person to person. All I can say is that I got a ton of laughs from this series.

I watch wacky parody stuff most of the time anyways, so this one is pretty much up my alley.

I think the seasons cover 2 volumes each and it's still ongoing, so there is a good chance we are going to see this for a while.

Blessed be Papa Bones Ainz Ooal Gown and his cohort.

On-Topic:
It is one of the funniest, most entertaining series on todays Anime Market. The comedy is funny, action sequences are entertaining, the characters are all endearing, even though most of them are either assholes or completely incompetent.

P.S. Darkness is the best waifu. Fight me.

It is really good. The basic jist of it is that the guy (your typical shut in) tries to rescue a girl from a car, dies in the process and gets an audience with a goddess. Sounds typical, right? But then the story starts playing with tropes of "issekai" subgenre and turning them on their heads.

The protagonist is not "ordinary, slightly stupid but still kind-hearted guy", but cunning, genre-savvy, greedy and somewhat lazy asshole (though he is still an OK guy). His "party" consists of aformentioned completely incompetent. bratty, petty and dowright retarded goddess; a "chuunibyou" mage girl who knows only one uber-destructive spell that wipes everything, but knows nothing else and this spell completely drains her mana, which means she is one shot wonder; a crusader girl (paladin, basically) who is not only incapable of hitting anything (despite having insane strength, stamina and HP) but is also completely masochistic, meaning if she CAN protect anyone from a flying boulder, she will (and not beause she is virtuous).

Basically, they are quite disfunctional grop of lovable idiots.

However, it all depends on your sense of humour. One of the forum users here said that they dropped the series because of how "mean" its humour was. And I can sowhat see that, since one of the running gags of the series is Kazuma (protag) rightfully bullying afformentioned goddess because of her incompetence and stupidity.

Bit still, give it a go. As I've said before, it is one of the best things on todays anime/LN market.

I'd take these "what a great anime" threads more seriously if I didn't get a fucking panty shot every time I image-search a new show.

Whelp. Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I'm glad that the show has a lot of fans. But to me it kinda wants to have its cake and eat it too. In that it is both a rip on tropy wish fulfillment anime and wish fulfillment anime itself. Which is fine, but also doesn't make it very clever by itself. Shows like One Punchman and Re: Zero I thought did a much better job.

Also I know the joke is that the character's are jerks in general and too each other most of the time because of useless they are, but that doesn't really make them endearing or funny to me.

Yeah, there is indeed quite a hefty dose of fanservice in this series. Still I think the show stands on the merits of its entertaining factors.

Edit: also, to be fair, considering we're talking anime...are you really all that surprised that any time you look up a new show in google images it's nothing but a bunch of screen-caps of panty-shots? I'm not saying that everyone that watches anime has pervy tendencies, but there certainly is a robust number of anime enthusiasts that do.

You're exaggertating though, as Konosuba doesn't have "pantyshots".

Putting aside a certain character getting her panties stolen via "Steal" ability, which is only twice in the whole series, there's no pantyshots. heck, Aqua looks like she's not wearing any to begin with. lol
