Not able to play games through twice?

I almost always replay games. Mostly because I can't go out and buy another game just because I finished one.

I'm in nearly the opposite situation. I almost never replay games, mostly because I have such a huge backlog of games I've already bought. Not particularly expensive ones or anything, but when stuff is $5 or less in Steam sales and indie bundles, it tends to pile up after a while, even if you only get stuff you're genuinely interested in. At least that way I stay so far behind on new games that by the time I get around to them they're cheap too, but I only really replay stuff that I'm really into or has a significant reward or different path the second time around (which is not most stuff).

My usual method of playing games (mainly in respects to RPGs, but other games as well):

1: Get going and play about 20% of the way through before declaring that I now understand the mechanics and should try over with a new build.

2: Build a bunch of character types/playstyles, playing each one about 10-30% of the way through the game.

3: Bulid the character/style I really like the feel of and play about 70% of the way through a game, but then start to feel like I've mastered the mechanics and I'm just rolling through the game with no challenge or enjoyment.

4: Start making builds with handycaps and restrictions to increase the difficulty or immersion. Play around 75% of the way through the game before feeling the same as above, that I've conquered my own challenge and victory is just a matter of time

5: start making new and extreme handycap builds. Play around 10% of the game before feeling that the magic has gone and lose intrest in the game completely.

I NEVER FINISH A GAME.

It depends on the game for me. Fallout 3, GTA 4, Oblivion, Skyrim open world games i tend to replay because apart from the story it changes enough i.e. random events to keep me playing.

exceptions are games retroactively ruin the game for me i.e. Rage

As much as i enjoyed playing the game, when the ending happened i could never play the game again for the simple fact there's a massive turd sat at the end :-/

I do from time to time, why not? But I usually dont do it just for the lulz, I do it mainly if theres something that I have forgote on my first run, such as an important item or character I guess. Other than that, I dont go back.

I can in some cases, I mean the Mass effect series I can have played through multiple times. But other games, like HL2 and Portal/Portal 2 I just can't even though I really do enjoy the story.

There is only one game I couldn't play a second time, the new Turok that came out a few years back. It just felt broken. I mean the boss fights alone didn't really tell you how to kill them. I had to go online to find out how to kill at least half of them. Two that come to the front of my mind was the giant eel and the final T-Rex battle; those two were literally trail and error for me.

I replay a lot of games just most of them don't happen to be modern. Don't get me wrong there are some recent games I replay and love but a lot of them lose their value to me after 1 playthrough.

It's rarely the case with me, I usually play games over and over and over and it's not even because I can't buy everything I want, because my income fluctuates from month to month so sometimes I can buy everything I want and the things I was not sure but bought anyway because I had the money I mostly just won't finish I have one or two that I have not even oppened. There are just some bloody good games.

not really, you can burn through all the rallies, and all the delivery missions in a few hours. They're also not that difficult if you do the races to upgrade your car. One thing to mention though, is that when you come up against 'The Authority' vehicles it pays to have done at least half of the rallies because tbh they're bastards on higher difficulty settings :S

I only eceedingly rarely replay games. I play games mostly for story content and hence most of the games I play are RPGs, so the time invested quite big and my backlog is quite huge, but rarely is the story different enough for a second playsthrough where playing again will yield different results. I even have trouble playing for trophies if the game continues after the final boss/story element.

Almost every game I like, I replay. Sometimes ridiculously often. I've finished GTA Vice City and MGS4 over a dozen times.

Only for certain games. JRPGs such as Tales of Symphonia/Graces f/Vesperia, I can play again and again and again.

Some games like Phoenix Wright I can play multiple times. I can play puzzles forever

Action games, though, like Ninja Gaiden, Prince of Persia, ect, I can typically only handle one playthrough every half a year or so. If I get around to playing it again that early.

Like others I don't have money to go buy a game once I'm finished so I have to be able to squeeze out at least 2 or 3 playthroughs (Skyrim had to be the worst 30 bucks i spent cause I didn't finish it once) So at least to me replayablilty is one of the first things I'm looking for.

I usually play my games more than once. I've played through games like Oddworld, Thief, Oblivion and Morrowind many times each.

When I played the last mission on Skyrim though I sorta felt there wasn't anything left to do, but I gave it a while and now I'm back into it.

I almost never can right away, but after a month or two I might get back into a game. I don't always finish them twice though.

If a game is good enough to me I'll certainly play it again, though if it doesn't have a lot of side content to keep me invested after beating the main story I'll likely wait a while, and alternate endings and branching paths will probably get me to jump right back in though.

Are you kidding me? I replay the same hundreds and hundreds of games over and over and over again! Then, get some new ones, whenever I can!
