Something to take into consideration when you are playing a game that is still in Beta. Notch set himself a deadline of 11/11/11 and I would expect he wants to keep it.

I know it's a beta and it's not bad that he releases updates fastly.
It's just a personal annoyance. Eventually the mods will be updates as well and new features are always fun though.

Fairly certain a ton of movies, games and everything else imaginable will be coming out on that date. I'd almost put money on the fact we'll see a Call of Duty.

I'm damn excited about Uncharted 3 which should be out around that time as well. Mass Effect 3 is also in the pipes for that time of year and Battlefield 3. It wont be a slow Christmas for AAA releases.

Has he posted on twitter that you may be able to hang the maps on the wall, but it's being a little tricky to program in.

Over all this is sweet. Liking the idea that the middle of the map will be where you make it and will be blank when you make it. As you move around it updates and if any changes are made to the scenery the map doesn't automatically update unless you or anyone you have linked the map up with does there.

Depends a bit on the building requirements for the 'map'. Might be it takes a lot longer to get the resources for a map than a compass.

Though to be honest, I suspect map will just be like, ink + leather or something.
