...how are you spending your newfound time?
Or alternatively, what WILL you be doing once your exams are over?

I'm basically adopting an utterly sedentary lifestyle, moving the 360 to my room, carefully placing the modem so my laptop can get wireless from my room, and getting stuck in to reading Stephen King's IT (Which is a long book, people!).

Over to you guys!

I'm currently on an internship in China working 12 hours a day and getting destroyed by the language barrier.
It's pretty cool, though.

...What newfound time? I've been working my rear thrusters off since May. It'll continue for a month still. And a week before september, university exams will begin (where I have a few to take), followed by non-stop teaching until december...

Vacation. Free time. I really envy those whom have it.

Same things I did in between the exams. Sit around and do nothing. Although now I go to the cinema more often.

I will continue going to my 9-5 desk job.

Because I'm not in school anymore.

Catch up on the plentiful amount of books I've bought, if I'm not too busy having to do research assignments my school has oh-so-graciously deigned to shovel onto its students.

I've always wondered, I know you can choose your holidays, but what's the maximum time you can have off in a job?

OT: I will be playing on my xbox, reading, cycling, swimming, going out with friends, GOING TO ESCAPISM! *ahem*, and...water skiing.
Yes, I'm learning to water ski. I'm ok, because I've done it every year in the Caribbean for the last 10 years or so.

I finished my last ever exams 2 months ago today. Uni FTW. Now, however, I'm looking for a full time job, although I'm getting various agencies to do the work for me so I can continue doing nothing.

Depends on where you work.

My job allows me 15 days of vacation time, and up to 16 paid T.O. days, which I technically pay for through the way my salary is structured (work day is 7.5 hours, I get paid for 7, and every 15 days I bank a T.O. day, I can then take that TO day, without it counting against my weekly paycheque). Additionally, the longer I'm with the company, the more vacation time I get (I think it jumps to 20 days after 5 years.)

I also get up to 3 sick occurrences paid at 100%, and 2 more after that at 75%.

--------------

Government jobs here work similarly, but instead of TO days, they get a 9-day fortnight - wherein they get a flex day every 2 weeks, but that flex day has to be taken when it is given - they don't get to pick.

--------------

Some jobs don't actually offer paid time off, but most do. The actual number and how they're handled vary from company to company.

It's actually one month since I finished my exams, so I've had much boreness. I've read books, I'm currently at my third PS3 game since then, I spend much too much time here on the Escapist and I have driving lessons (although I don't need them, NFS has told me everything about escaping the law).

Only two more months to go. Yay!

Are you not one of the crew members who is supported by the website?

If not. Sadface.

OT: Just finished exams? My A2's finished a while back. I've just kept what I've always been doing. Coming here and wasting my time.
I get a little money from our contract here, but it's not enough to live off. I have a pretty lucritive day job though, so I'm not too concerned about the money.

Actually, I'd finished A2 a while back too, I just hadn't got round to making this thread. The reason? The same reason I'm adapting my sedentary lifestyle until I go on holiday, that being pure idleness.

I'll be relaxing and gaming a lot this summer, arranged a nice holiday in Turkey in three weeks. And then, I'll be starting off as an Aerospace Engineering Apprentice in September.

Oh ok, that's better than I thought it was. That basically gets you a 2 week holiday and then 16 days off for other events that are still paid for.

Thanks for the information!

3 weeks holiday, plus 16 days, work week is 5 days.

Bear in mind though, I work for a government-owned corporation, and am part of a strong office-workers union. I get more time off than most private-sector or non-union employees would as a result.

I'll be working this summer, but only part-time.

The rest of my time will be spent playing bass, using the computer, and rehearsing with my bands

Ah I see, work weeks.
I'd be ok with half that time to be honest, I mean I usually only go on week long holidays with my family anyway.

Thanks.
