Your opinionz, I want them!

(I did only a cursory check to see if there were any Obama threads, so if this one's redundant, sorry!)

Personally, I'm going to wait and see how the guy does in office before I form an opinion.

So I ask you, Escapist: what do you think of our new president!

EDIT: America's new president. i'm such an asshat. thanks for pointing out my error, Archer147

My hatred of Obama pelosi reid and gang is only furthered every day I read/hear/watch about his cabinets past his current policies and his constant campaigning.

EDIT: Not to mention the God-awefull stimulus bill.... Really increasing the deficit and funding temporary projects that do nadda for the econ. Not to mention most of the bill doesn't take effect till 10' after a recovery is supposed to be in progress....Thanks man weaken a already weak dollar just to increase govn't spending.

I don't care for him that much. I'd state the reasons why, but I'd probably get flamed, so let's just leave it at "We disagree on things".

There's a new Obama thread like every single day dude. Nothing new.
To stay on topic, I'd say my opinion of him skyrocketed when I heard that he called Kanye a jackass for the VMA outburst. Other than that, I could care less about the politics - people take it to unreasonable extremes most of the time.

Hardly a new one anymore.
Meh-ish. But it must be hard to be the president if the people oppose everyhting you try to do.

I like him, quite a lot. I rather wish we Brits had somebody apart from mister fat bloated sack of crap leading us. No offence to fat people.

Commas are your friends, it took me a bit to decipher what you were saying.

I voted for the man, but I am still wary. I believe that he was the best choice as someone who could actually clean up the mess left by the last administration. Still reserving judgment until he has actually had some time to do shit.

But he has a super majority in the house/senate he could do whatever the hell he wanted if he could keep his party in line. Only opposition is he knows that the house is gonna start swinging back in '10 to a conservative mindset and he doesn't wanna aggravate that to make the swing even bigger.

I think keeping the patriot act, passing a massive "stimulus" and ramping up afganistan. Not to mention taking over GM and Chrysler, and pushing for a cap and tax bill.

I think we have had ample opportunity to see what he's about and can begin to pass judgment

I was able to actually purchase a house because that $8,000 helped cover the closing costs which was really all that was stopping me. Plus we had enough left over to add in a new master bathroom. Increasing the property value by quite a jump.

He's a-okay in my book.

I've got my problems with him, but better him than McCain, y'know? Obama might cave in to every whiny Republican that comes knocking, but at least he's not half-senile with a moron for a vice president.

Regardless of his political skills, I'm amazed at his charisma. I wish our prime minister had even a tenth of the charisma Obama has.

I'm from the Netherlands by the way.

Sounds like a reasonable idea. So that begs the question: why can you stay on the fence and ask others to form an opinion already? I certainly hope you aren't going to base your opinion on which is more popular.

I was rather referring to the shouty people on the streets.

oh dear god by no means will i do any such thing! i just want to know what everyone thinks. my family is split down the middle between democrat and republican (though both sides lean toward conservatism, oddly enough - probably an effect of living in Tennessee), so naturally, depending on who i talk to, he's either the savior of earth or satan himself.

to be honest, i just want to know what people think, and I wanna see some political debate! like i said, i'll form my own opinion based on his actions as president (NOT as a senator) later on.
