Offline Skirmish Mode is Live in Star Wars Battlefront

The latest update to Star Wars Battlefront is live, and it adds a long-awaited feature to the game: Offline Skirmish mode. In Skirmish, you can play the Fighter Squadron and Walker Assault game modes against bots either solo or with a friend. Console players can also enjoy split screen gameplay in Skirmish.

Also included in this patch are tweaks to the partner system. Spawning checks will now occur every second, instead of every two seconds. One of the biggest changes is that you can no longer spawn on your partner when there is an enemy within 10 meters. Previously, this range was two meters, so this is a fairly major change. The update also balances a few aspects of the Bespin DLC.

Yeah guys, look, we know most of you turned off this game months ago, in fact we know more of you are playing Bad Company 2 than this on PC now, but for those of you still around we put in this neat single player bot match mode!

Alright so the Battlefront player numbers are actually pretty ok (around 45k, which is about half of BF4), this continues the theme of Battlefront being OK, not great, but ok.

I'm ok with that.

I honestly forgot this game existed. I guess it's nice that EA is continuing to support it for it's remaining players.

Don't see why, anyone who was going to has already bought the season pass and they already have their money. Anyone who hasn't yet aren't going to because they already announced the sequel is coming out next year.

this. add in the second part so I can use that HD sweetfx mod with it and I'll be satisfied enough to make a purchase.

How good is the AI governing the bots? I know it won't be as much of a challenge compared to real people (maybe, some teams don't work well together. Bots would have the advantage there). Now if they could only patch in a single player campaign.

And now the game is back on my "Maybe" buy list. If I see a decent sale or something on it. Battlefront's always been an experience where I plop down with a bot match and have my star wars shoots for half an hour or so. Played the Beta back before it launched, enjoyed the experience, but had far more fun in just the wave survival mode overall.

Nope. Complete deal-breaker for me,I just stuck with Battlefront 2
