Okami for the Wii Delayed

Your favorite artist wolf-god will not be playable on the Wii until April 15, a two-week step backwards from the game's original release date.

Even though Clover Studios, the developers of Okami, dissolved shortly after the release of their masterpiece, the keys to the game were handed to Ready at Dawn studios, the folks responsible for the Daxter brand.

Okami found a cult following after its release on PlayStation 2 in 2006. Its brand of combat through drawing pictures was unique to the videogame world.

Dang. This is clearly THE that would make me buy the console. I planned to grab it on the PS2, but resigned once I knew I could use the wiimote to draw symbols. I believe this game is perfectly shaped for the console (assuming the port is OK).

You could say that the release date is a sort of blank canvas.

...

I'll get my coat.
