Olivia Munn formerly of the G4 show Attack of the Show has been hired by Comedy Centrals The Daily Show to fill shoes formerly held by the likes of Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, and when stacked against the current reporters, let alone those notable Steve's she just doesn't cut it.

She almost never shows her face on The Daily Show and when she does she's stiff and doesn't seems to have a personality beyond "hot and nervous" She has become The Daily Show's Jimmy Fallon, except without the inexplicable faith on the part of the producers that somehow kept Fallon in front of a camera.

So, what do you members of the Escapist think on this? I didn't really see enough episodes of Attack of the Show in a high enough frequency to be able to accurately recall Olivia's performance then. But do you think her unfunny nature on the Daily show is simply her not being used to an audience that is actually paying attention. DId she convince us that she was funny by being willing to strip down to a bikini in a brief slapstick sketch on Attack of the Show distracting us with the allure of hot gamer chick? Was she never funny? Or am I wrong on all counts, by your reckoning Olivia is "the one true Munn, goddess of games"?

Don't know who she is...
Hopefully they can find funnier women, if she's as bad as you say, and not just eye-pleasers.

I don't believe she was hired in a contracted position but simply did several segments to see how she fit with the show. I wasn't overly impressed with her, but she is pretty cute.

Olivia Munn isn't remotely funny. The only reason anyone gave a shit about her when she was on G4 was that she was a hot girl who was also a geek. Now that she's sort of shrugged off the geek image and is trying just to be a hot funny girl, she's much less interesting, and now her obnoxiousness just makes her annoying and even less attractive.

Olivia Munn was never funny. The only reasons she was on Attack of the Show were to look good and give Kevin someone to play off of.

Meh, when I watched AOTS (before Direct TV dropped G4) she really didn't seem that funny by herself. Mostly she played off of Kevin, who in retrospect, seems kind of mediocre.

I knew I forgot something

You know, from what I recall from Attack of the Show she was pretty funny, or at the least willing to go along with a gag.

Her? Does she need to be funny? I mean I understand what you are saying. But she gets ratings because of that gif.

Don't get me wrong, shes pretty to look at as long as she doesn't open her mouth.
The chick they got to replace her is an IDIOT tho.

I never cared much for her in the first place. I mean sure she was nice to look at but I'd more often than not change the channel anyways, there's always a hockey game or other less interesting sporting event on television to watch. except horse racing, she'd beat out horse racing and golf. I think I understand why I don't bother with television now...

She's done ok, so far. Not particularly great, but certainly not the worst the Daily Show has ever hired. I expect she will grow as a comedian as every other Daily Show associate has. Just look at Wyatt Cenac. When he started, the only personality he had was "angry black guy", and now he's practically headlining.

She plays an excellent "straight man" to other comedians, and trust me, that's much harder than telling a joke.

I enitrely agree. I didn't think I could like a female comic less than Sam Bee, but... yeah.

There're plenty of female comics I do like, I should probably point out. Whether it's just their style, I've no idea. I just don't connect with Munn or Bee. Whether it's a lack of timing or something, I'm unsure, but I feel like switching off the sound every time they come on.

I'm not really hating her on the Daily Show. I don't like her as much as Samantha Bee who was my least favorite correspondent before Munn joined but with any luck she'll faid into obscurity and be forgoten.
