Olivia Munn to Play an Avenger?

Olivia Munn is definitely in the upcoming Iron Man sequel, but exactly who she'll be playing suddenly got a lot more interesting.

While we're talking about Marvel themed cameos [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98920-Stan-Lee-Mounts-Oscar-Campaign], there's a chance that G4 presenter Olivia Munn's cameo in Iron Man 2 might be more than just a cameo.

At the moment, it's believed that Munn will be playing Russian superspy Iron Maiden [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Maiden_(comics)], a long time enemy of the Black Widow - who will be played by Scarlett Johansson - but according to Hollywood spies [http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00031132.html], she will actually be playing Wanda Maximoff, better known as the Scarlet Witch, Magneto's daughter and long-standing member of the Avengers.

With an Avengers movie in the pipeline, there's definite potential for someone to play the Scarlet Witch, but it seems like a supreme act of fan service to cast someone like Munn in the role. Munn does have some acting experience however, so maybe it's not quite as ridiculous as it sounds.

Seems odd to me to suddenly try to blend in the X-men franchise, since last time I checked, Marvel had sold the rights to those movies to a different studio or something like that.

Could cause a conflict if she's supposed to be in the X-men Origins: Magneto movie.

Yeah? Why Olivia Munn?
I mean I love AOTS! Olivia and Kevin?s antics on the show are great.
But Olivia as a serious actress?
Sure she fits the part physically, but there are probably thousands of others that could.
Also this character (Scarlet Witch) deserves a serious actress (See ?House of M?).

I'm not so sure myself. I think that it may work, but I've seen Olivia Munn on G4 and I just can't picture her as a superhero in any way.

I never really liked Attack of the Show, I've stopped watching G4 altogether since it has long ago forgotten and abandoned video games as the primary subject, but that's not why we're here. but Scarlet Witch? I never liked those her or her brother as characters in the series. She was alright some time because she had some semblance of a backbone, but her brother was just a little whinny *****.

I get the feeling that Iron Man 2 is getting too much crammed into it because Marvel feel that being as popular as it is they can get people interested into other projects such as the Avengers film. The film might suffer some shortcomings.
