The worst is when I forget other peoples' birthdays (e.g. friends or family) and they seem to take it personally. Like...seriously? I like them for who they are, but their birthday is utterly irrelevant to anything. I literally don't give a fuck about anyone's birthday, least of all mine. It's just another day.
Christmas also strikes me as super pointless. People arbitrarily exchanging gifts and greetings...why? For what purpose? It's all for it's own sake, all pointless formalities.
If people truly want to "show their love/care" to someome, get them something immediately. Not on Christmas, not on their birthday, but right now. Just do it. There is nothing special about those days and you can show your love/care any time, all the time.
