I'm still not going to buy it.
I don't think that origin was a smart idea on EA's part.
this!! I don't want a second digital platform to keep track of..
EA pretty much lost me as a customer, to bad, i liked many of their games.

And any of those games are worth it why?

I'm sure anyone who wanted Mass Effect 2 already has it. And that's the only one on that list that is worth it.

Medal of Honor was purely shit and isn't worth even free. Dead Space 2 is "meh" at best.

This isn't going to make me want to use Origin any more than I didn't already want to use it now. Maybe if they had ANY game from their current library save for pre-orders, I'd consider it. Or maybe if it included an option of 2 months free play of SW:TOR, I "might" consider it.

However, as it stands, desperate attempt to sell a game after piss poor publicity. Really, if it was on Steam and included a TF2 hat, I'd still sell more than with free games included off Origin, and that's just sad.

BF3 not showing up on Steam and requiring an Origin client to play is just awful. I have half a mind to... OHMYGOD FREE GAMES GIMMIEGIMMEGIMME! All is forgiven.

Though I wasn't sure if I'd buy this game on release so I may pass on pre-ordering it. The only interesting title on offer to me is Mass Effect 2, and I already have it. 2 copies in fact (long story) BTW anyone want to swap a Steam copy of ME2 (or Saints Row 2) for a copy of "Bastion" or "From Dust"?
I would totally swap my ME2 for your Bastion, but how do you do that again?

I don't think I would get it either way (and if I do it'll be for my PS3), but this Origin bullsh*t is just frustrating. You can give away as many pre-order bonuses as you like, EA, your still coming across as a greedy b*stard.

Considering I don't want any of those games and Battlefield 3 costs £10 more on Origin, I'm still going to pass. Nice try though, EA. Maybe next time try selling YOUR OWN GAME for a lower price than it costs to buy a physical copy of it somewhere else.

Sooo, could anyone please confirm if that deal is only for the US?

There's nothing on the Origin - Brazil.

Actually I was after the other way round. I've got giftable copies of Mass Effect 2 and Saints Row 2 for trade (I don't want hats).

I disagree.
Limiting the release of BF3 to Origin funnels many potential buyers towards, if anything, Modern Warfare 3.

I'll be very interested to see how long it takes Origin to crash and burn, because even if it does take off it's ultimately run by EA and therefore destined to fail eventually.

Still, Battlefield 3 needs to give me realistic orgasms before i give my personal info to yet another video game company. I just want to play my purchased games, not 'play corporate purchase games'.
Not in a bad way, but a kindly joking,
giving your "personal info," besides your credit card info, they already have it haha. EA accounts are Origin accounts.
But on another side, I do agree with you. I'm not so miserly with my money, but when it comes to my actual information...ehhhhhh. Even though I trust most companies to guard my information as best as they can, doesn't mean that I think that their best is that good.

Yeah i know. I haven't played any EA games since they tried to make me sign up. So i'm still safe. *crosses fingers

Yeah i just don't like my info being spread all over servers everywhere. I have been lucky not to be compromised in any of the more recent public hacks, but you can never be truly safe. But Valve, Microsoft, Blizzard and whatever company it is that makes Champions Online already has my info. That's just the direct gaming (that i can think of off the top of my head). There's also all the programming crap i have to be signed up for: Miscrosoft Dreamworks, Oracle, etc. Not to mention email, this site, etc etc etc etc...

Are you listening game companies? I have too many passwords to remember!

Have two of the games (One on steam for the sake of Irony) and have no interest in the last, I'm gonna need more convincing to use Origin than this.

I already have ME2 and DS2, and I don't give a damn about MoH. So, I guess it'll be whoever has it cheapest at or before launch.

I bring back the ironic thing about Origin, EA only sells EA games on it... so who really cares. Not much competition.

It's actually a really stupid move for EA. Anytime you limit the locations of your product, you are making it less available. They want to beat CoD, they won't like this. CoD will be sold on everything.

It hurts them to do this. Whether it's true or not, a lot of people have said they won't be purchasing it because it's not on Steam. That is stupid for a game that will probably be really good, but I don't blame them either.

I think I'm one of the few who isn't buying this game now, I'm not putting up with EAs bullshit.

I already have both of those. Unfortunately Origin is currently restricted to EA titles, so there's not much reason for me to be using Origin just yet for any reason other than BF3.

If it requires Origin for even the single player game, I ain't buying it. There's plenty of games to play without that bullcrap.

Steam is the same way as far I know.
The free game is a good deal.
Origin and Steam are not mutually exclusive.
Gamers win on the discount

Okay, they're just on their knees, begging people to join Origin now. It'll work, but it's pitiful.
