Those of you who've played any of the original five Mega Man games on the Game Boy, let me ask you: are they worth getting? I know most of you will say that they pale in comparison to their beefier NES counterparts, but the problem is that I don't have a NES, so it'd be nice to have a taste of some Mega Man before I download Street Fighter X Mega Man.

Oh yeah there awesome. I dont remember the one that I had but megaman was given a fist that he could shoot out at the enemy. It was really challenging especially for my age and I tend to prefer the handheld ones for there increased challenge.

its megaman 3 or 5. pretty damn sure it was 5

Not if you can get the originals in any format. They're pretty much the same except with worse graphical/sound quality and less inspired level design. MM2GB was particularly bad in this way, and the Game Boy version of Dust Man's level is probably one of the worst-designed levels in the franchise's history. The fifth one however did have brand new robot masters and interesting levels and lots of cameos- that's the only one I would recommend. Plus:
It's the ONLY original MM game, the only one, which doesn't have Dr.Wily as the final boss!

I have got the first one and I must say that if you have been treated for anger, avoid it.

It is an excellent example of a game none the less. Tight controls, great music (for its era) and perfect length for a game where you just want to run through something without caring. I suggest however, if you do pick one up play it on a color handheld. I played a few levels on the original Game Boy out of nostalgia and had to stop due to massive eyestrain.

I am in favor of you playing.

It was Megaman 3 from the boss Hard Man. The weapon Hard Knuckle was Top Man's weakness.
