Ok, so I picked up a barely used original xbox for ?10. Long live flea markets. Now I need some more games. But, I'm not looking for the obvious ones like Halo, Fable or Ninja Gaiden. They're already on the 'to get'-list.

So what are the hidden gems on the xbox? Those lesser known, yet awesome games that don't get the credit they deserve. Besides soccer or football games, any genre goes.

I believe the timesplitters games were sold on original xbox as well as the original prince of persia trilogy. They're the best things to get.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 - Its like Battlefield and Star Wars combined into awesome.

Star Wars Republic Commando - Fantastic FPS set in the Star Wars universe. Smart AI, fun battles, and that great Star Wars soundtrack.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath - A criminally overlooked game where you could fire adorably deadly woodland critters off of an arm-mounted crossbow.

Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes - What if Dynasty Warriors was an RTS, and really fun? This game shows how. One of the few RTS games that works with a controller.

Beyond Good and Evil - If you never played this game, I pity you. Its like $5 on Steam and Good old Games, so go buy! Its also cheap on the xbox as well, and I would say controls better.

Spartan Total Warrior - Remember Rome Total War? Its like that, only a third person hack 'n' slash. And its awesome. If you haven't played Rome Total War, then let me explain. This game is like an RTS. Only instead of controlling lots of troops, you are a soldier in these massive battles. And its awesome.

Jade Empire - Another fantastic RPG made by Bioware.

Timesplitters - Seriously, these are my favorite games of all time and I would say they are the best games out right now. Better than anything released in this generation of games at least. Fantastic and funny story, amazingly fun 4-player split-screen multiplayer with bots. Astoundingly deep and insanely easy to use map editor, extremely customizable matches, 150+ playable characters... Yeah, these games have it all, and I would say they're perfect. If you haven't played them, they're very cheap on Amazon, and on the PS2 as well. So buy all 3, and see what a truly fun FPS is.

Second Sight, Beyond Good & Evil, Pyschonauts, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, The Suffering, and Armed and Dangerous. Need I go on? Because I can.

Unreal Championship 2 and Pariah. Both great games, I still play UC2. Pariah had an awesome online community, everyone knew each other and it was so small you'd be playing with the highest ranks on the leaderboard every game. Me and my cousin were in the top 10, t'was dope.

I remember Abe's Odyssey on PS1. Good times. I'm definitely looking into this.

don't really know if this is a "hidden" gem but it was good. Steel Battalion if you can find one. Damn good mech game and the special controller is awesome and helps with the immersion.

I started typing up all of those, then looked back and realised I had been beaten to it.

My only contribution now is Mechassault 2. Was a surprisingly Advanced game for its time.

Arx Fatalis was a great unheared of game on the orginal xbox.

It played liked a morrowind clone but with some good orginal gameplay mechanics added to it. The world was pretty intresting (in that it took place underground) and the dungeons where well done.
