Pandaren Join World Of Warcraft In Next Expansion

Adding monks and pandas? Blizzard really want their subscribers back. Honestly, I really wish monks came out when I was still playing. My poor Enhancement Shaman alt was always kicking sand in the dps department (this was at some point in Wrath I think) and I love hand-to-hand characters. Unless they do a free trial of the expansion (which I don't think is something they ever do) I'll pass. I've been clean too long and ToR is coming out sooner, which I am praying sucks because I don't have time to play it and I don't want everyone to have a bunch of fun without me

So... We had Nefarian -> Illidan -> Lich King -> Death Wing ->... WTF CAN BE AFTER THAT in PANDARIA (A running gag turned serious in Warcraft III)?! The Tyranical Panda God Odios Potrudous Assious?! The only thing after this to come up will have to be the Nether where we actually could go up against all of the greatest enemies (such as Sargaras), but that is it!

Blizzard normally do really good WoW trailers, but this...I laughed.

They just look so damn silly. Admittedly that's not unique for WoW but this is the first time I've looked at WoW's cartoony graphics and actively thought "yeah, that looks like a cartoon."

So, either they're going to have a gaping continuity hole here with Alliance and Horde Pandarens being unable to understand each other, or will the pandaren language be cross-faction?

I mean, its bad enough with the Forsaken/Common thing they have going on, but at least they have (the admittedly paper-thin) excuse of Gutterspeak and anti-living counterculture.

And also, they're redoing talents again?

And the one thing that just kills me here is that I know they're not going to update the old character models, and Pandaria is really pretty and a dwarf, human or tauren with their lower-poly models, equipment textures mapped to their models in unflattering ways and their textures that are from a style completely different to contemporary WoW will just stand out as looking like they're from a completely different game...

I mean they updated half of Azeroth. Why can't they at least update the hair textures to look more consistent?

I believe they do do this, actually. And I think they also offer a free week of gameplay for your current expansion to try to get you back. Or at least they used to.

It didn't even show the full extent of their silliness, notably their intense love for booze. Really, why should they even consider joining the Horde? Every Pandaren worth his salt would hang out full-time with Dwarves.

So yeah, they're silly, and that's why I loved them, spare info as there may be about them. I keep my fingers crossed for them adding the Blademaster as well, that'd be an awesome Hero class.

Guys guys guys. This is EXACTLY the type of expansion that should be coming out now. Just give it a little bit more time and WoW will go F2P. What rakes in more money than cartoon pets and mounts? Cartoon pets that you can fight with!

Mark my words: Blizzard will use this for a jumping off point for all the micro-transaction stuff. It's perfectly kid friendly and addictive enough for the older crowd to keep them coming back for more. My money is on Blizz selling more and more pets in the store so people can fight with them.

Like most other expansions Pandaren was something they really wanted to do for a long time, but were held back. The Pandaren originally slated for the Burning Crusade as part of the Alliance, Bloodmyst and Azuremyst Isle were originally the Pandaren starting areas. Blizzard is not running out of ideas, they are trying to implement the ideas they couldn't fit into the other expansions. Blizzard is also an international company, they have to cater to a wide audience and they understand that more than most. As for a main villain, there not going to really be one except the opposite faction. (Battlefield raids?)

The pandaren are a transition from factional fighting to uniting the Horde and Alliance for the eventual battle with Sargeras somewhere down the road.

Not really a fan of Warcraft, but if I played, I would be excited over a monk class.(assuming you don't have to be a panda to play one.)

I don't get why people are upset about this. Pandas don't seem any more ridiculous then gnomes or aliens.
