Well, let's not go, because:

-I really dislike Path of Exile

-I'm not sure how PoE 2 makes D4 "pointless" since as far as I can tell, PoE 2 is just an expansion for PoE 1, just with the "2" attached to it. So if PoE 2 made D4 "pointless," wouldn't PoE 1 already have done so?

-I really dislike Path of Exile.

-But it's not as if Blizzard's any better with Overwatch 2 just being an expansion to Overwatch 1 when you get down to it. Nor am I onboard with D4 either really.

-Did I mention that I really, really, REALLY don't like Path of Exile?

I'm not keen on having a repeat of Diablo 3, which destroyed my hope of a future for the Diablo franchise.
I tried PoE, but without buying storage space, all the 20 zillion "crafting/currencies" will wreck your stash and ability to play.

I'm putting my tentative hope in https://www.torchlightfrontiers.com/en instead.

OP: Yeah path of exile 2 is looking pretty awesome, looking forward to giving it a shot. Although, it seems like the enemy deaths could use a bit more gore, this kinda game is more fun with that.

D4 is going to be always-online, with an even heavier aspect of an MMO about it. Mounts included.
It will also have MTX, for whales to engage in sweet sweet in-game transactions..

Well, that, plus the skill trees, and rune system, and classes, and monsters (Duriel, Andariel), etc.

(Did you like D1? since you said you didn't like D2, weirdly enough. Or did you start the franchise with D3 and liked that?

My order of playing the games went D2, D1, D3. My order of preference goes D3, D1, D2.

I'll concede that 'objectively', D2 is better than D1, but of the three, I enjoyed it the least. D1 I enjoyed.

I can't really complain about any of that. D3 was already always online, I like the idea of mounts, and the open-world system has potential (which Torchlight Frontiers is also using). Microtransactions don't bother me if they're aesthetic only.
