When I got this assignment I was hoping there would be more gambling.
When I got this assignment I was hoping there would be more gambling.

NPCs in New Vegas sure could use more than three lines of dialogue.

It's funny because if there was a nuclear winter, they'd be wishing it was hot again.
But yeah, I thought it was annoying that they'd constantly repeat 2 or 3 lines over and over again.

Show me a game that's as good in terms of open gameplay, tons of different and yet amusing playstyles, varying in quests and areas and generally as expansive as New Vegas that does this thing better. If you gotta nit-pick a game, go for something that at least has some punch. :p Like: "Nice spinning head, NCR Trooper. And nice hovering boulders, Mojave Wasteland. I get to walk through them and see the invisible insides of them? Thanks!"

Or even "Wow, the entire world just crashed and has to be restarted, for the third time today. How does that happen?"

I think invisible walls at 30 degree angles are much more aggravating personally. If you don't want me bypassing a valley of deathclaws then just add more rocks!

I ignored it for the first 30 or so hours of gameplay, but now it's eroding away at my will.

What the hell are you talking about? Is there anything here to discuss other than your random title and sentences? I why did you feel it necessary to repeat the same thing over and over again, especially when it doesn't seem to have any bearing on anything?

Edit: Ah, now I get what you're trying to say. Seriously you could have made it a lot clearer. It sounds like you're just muttering to yourself.

To be fair, constantly repeating a few lines of dialogue is a general video game thing. TV Tropes has more information. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WelcomeToCorneria]

Speaking of nuclear winter, does anyone else think that the next Fallout game should be in Alaska?

So long as you dont keep hitting E on the NPCs with not dialog trees there shouldn't be an issue. I certainly haven't heard that much repeated dialog. Not like fucking Claptrap and his annoying "look at me I'm dancing" or any character from Oblivion.

I don't really mind the repeating dialogue that the npcs have. The rest of the characters are interesting. And yes, the game has its bugs but it's still great fun (in my opinion). I think everyone knows that the game has its issues, I don't understand why we have to keep bringing the issue up though.

I have yet to expierience any major bugs 40 hours in. It only crashed once, which was when I was at the Hoover Dam with 30+ NPC's onscreen.

Apparently, the force is strong in me :D
