I REALLY hope they get it right
(Though from what I have seen of the campaign, they did.(Yes, I have seen a part of the campaign. No, I won't say where.))

You...you linked to TVTropes...

Dammit I had an evening planned

OT: I came to the franchise rather late, and I haven't actually finished Halo 2 yet, let alone 3 or ODST, but I'm still excited for this.

*cough* [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Halo-Fans]

I'm totally excited for this. The beta was great fun, and if the game is as fun, then I'll be playing it for a long, long time. Also the reveal of Hasley in a previous trailer almost made me piss myself.

We can all hope they succeed. I have always been impressed with Bungie as a company even if I haven't liked the directions they have taken with previous Halo games. I really think they will have tried their best to make this the best game they could rather than pedalling out crap and knowing the fans will buy it just because it's Halo.

Although my main hope is that the campaign exceeds the multiplayer, and most screen-shots seem to show the MP which is slightly disconcerting.

I am irritated by the fact that I was summoned for Jury Service which should have been last week, but it has now been pushed back to the day of the games release.

Usually I don't get too excited over Halo but Reach really has me interested. It really looks like the game is going back to the Halo: Combat Evolved feel. The one game in the series I really loved.

It's always like that. They're pretty tight lipped when it comes to Single Player and instead invite you to look at multiplayer instead.

But..Master Chief's story is NOT complete! I desperately, desperately want to see the end. The finale, the final countdown, the end of the war. and I wanted to see it with Bungie, and I am truly saddened that that will not occur.

Still excited for reach though.

Sad to see Bungie leaving Halo after Reach. Kinda depressing that these guys will no longer work on their series and that most likely someone else will.

I want halo reach as much as the next guy but really. you dont say masterchief dies, show a clip of him still alive flying to a planet and then make a game about a bunch of wanna-be badasses who we all know what happens to in the end.... its a dumb choice.

I'd have to say that the main bulk of the war is over.

At the end of H3, the Covenant have lost their home planet/base thing, the majority of their forces, their leaders and on top of that they have discovered that their entire religion is completely wrong. On the other hand, the humans have lost their fleet, their forces and their best frontline warrior. Basically, to continue to fight would destroy both sides, especially when the Flood are still out there.

This is the first Halo game I've had on my radar since my original xbox - hopefully it'll convert me to a fan again. I would much prefer to play a Sci-Fi shooter than a contemporary one. It's just a more fun/imaginative genre to me.
