I just got a gamepad from my friend who is selling his 360 and so far the only games I got a lot of use out of it well has been Crysis 2 Demo and Super Meat Boy and I couple of others I think would work.

Could someone give me a list of games that support Gamepads to see if I have any of them?

So far I know/have: (update as ppl say games)

Valve Games
Metro 2033
Mirrors Edge
Fallout: New Vegas
Super Meat Boy
Crysis 2
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Saints Row 2
Lost Planet: Colonies
Shank
Alpha Protocol
Resident Evil 4/5

All of them? Not all have native support for the Xbox 360 controller...look to any game that's a PC/360 title for that, but you can use any gamepad for any game if you just assign the keys manually. Do this by downloading and using Xpadder:

Hm, might use that. Probably will for a game that doens't support it.

Alpha Protocol supports gamepads..in fact it makes the game somewhat playable if you use one.

There is one very good reason to bother with gamepads on the PC versions of the L4D games; if you know the right console commands, it's possible to play splitscreen co-op, and it would be difficult if not impossible to actually set up four mice and keyboards, whereas hooking up four gamepads is child's play on any computer released in the last ten years or so.

OT: Just look out for console ports -- even the older ones. For example, I have a copy of the PC version of The Hobbit, which I've never played (long story), but all the reviews claimed was much better with a gamepad than the mouse and keyboard. The manual even explains how to set up what was a good quality Logitech controller at the time. In addition to console ports, most games are going to have some sort of game controller support. Whether it's for old style Directinput based controllers, or for Xbox360 style Xinput controllers, most games at least give the option of using a controller. It's not always handled well, but the option is at least there. For reference, the Xbox360 controller works both as a Directinput device, and an Xinput device, depending on whether or not the software you're using likes Xinput. Unfortunately, the rumble only works under Xinput, unless you use third party drivers.
