PC users: do you use a headset for online gaming
If so, what one and for which games?

I just got a Logitec Pro Chat USB and I'm hoping to be able to use it for Crysis online multiplayer, but, dunno if it will work, or if anyone is even still playing this game anymore.

I used that exact same headset before I got my Creative Fatality heatset. Its very good quality for the price and lasted me for over year before I dropped it and the micraphone broke which was unfortunate, still a great headset though.

I currenty use mine for Enemy Territory Quake Wars.

When playing with friends I do, but I don't bother when playing with anonymous people online.

Sometimes. I often tell strangers I'm far too lazy to reach over and put on my headset and they can damn well try and decipher my typos in the chat box. I'll usually wear it when I game with friends though.

If I'm playing an FPS or something immersive like say, Fallout 3 or Dragon Age I'll put it on for the awesome surround sound quality (my speakers suck =( ).

Soundblaster 2-SB Arena Headsets are amazing, by the way. Just saying.

Nope, though this mostly due to the fact that I can't get a microphone to work on my computer for some reason and I've never cared enough to actually bother about it. Back when I played WoW, I'd use headphones when raiding to hear what the raid leader was saying, and that was about it.

Usually, depends on how social I'm feeling. I use the on that came with my webcam its by Logitech

If by headset you mean if I generally speak to the people I play online with then not really.

If you mean if I use a headset for sound, then I always use my Steelseries 5H v2 one. Haven't even bothered setting up my speakers.

I don't like being tethered to the computer. I use my speakers. If I need to talk, I use a boom mic.

I use my small iPod headphones (at night) and a 2 dollar microphone.

I have a wireless Logitech headset. Greatest fucking purchase ever. I hate using speakers because I have to turn it up really loud to here ambient sounds and such and, well, my walls are thing and my neighbors have kids. Anyway, using a desktop mic is annoying as hell for other people unless all of the settings are perfect. Echo and all.

Edit: To explain why it has to be loud, I'm partially deaf in my left ear.

I'm using a very very Old Logitec headset when playing WC3 and SC2 online.

It cost me like 60Euros 5years back and it still works like a charm. For once i'm happy that I picked the higher priced version!

I use some cheapo headset, just for the microphone. I don't like headsets that block out outside noise in case someone at the house needs me for something.
