Persona 5 R will be roughly 25% longer than p5.

So, famitsu reviews are out for this baby and man, they actually added a whole third semester to the game! I had read about the various improvements such as new co-op attacks and new party member and superbosses and p3/4 MC boss fights and so on...but a whole third semester is just too awesome.

Legit tempted to import it from Japan like I did with original p5, only thing stopping me is that I'm in the middle of playing trails of cold steel 2 and my copy of trails 3 is coming literally today according to Amazon so I just don't have the time to play it and am not willing to stop trails for any reason.

Anyhow, here's the review for those curious:

Anyone still playing the original p5 due to it being a 150 hour game? XD

Cool, I will more than likely be picking this up at launch. More Persona 5 is surely a good thing. Unless its that Persona 5 dancing game, I played the demo and was like "why?". I suppose someone somewhere must have wanted it.

I am about halfway through my second playthrough, I need to pick it up again.

I plan to give my original version of the game to my friend who has written it off as "Japanese crap" based on the trailer...despite the fact that he likes the Final Fantasy games...And say to him, "play until you have beaten the first Palace, if you aren't invested by then, then you can stop". I think he'll end up getting into it, its what sucked me into the game.

Honestly not a big fan of when Atlus makes their games longer. They tend to stretch them to their limit with original releases usually being between 80-100hrs on a first playthrough. That said, since it won't technically be a first playthrough for a majority of the content it probably won't take quite that long.

I also know the best way to optimize an end game team already so prepping one of the new super bosses won't be an issue. Let's just hope they didn't nerf the marin karin yen grind off that one side quest boss or fusing OP personas will take forever.

It actually sounds like on top of the extra content that'll be absolutely new, the old stuff will unfold differently on top, so it being 25% longer doesn't mean that it'll have only 25% extra content. It'll have a lot more new things than just that much.

Historically, I'm a faithful when it comes to remakes, The Answer in particular being some of my most memorable time with an atlus game. (was completely captivated and ended up beating it in 2 15-hour long sessions lol)

Eh. When P5 originally came out, I wasn't in school and had time to play a game that long. Being in school, I really don't have too much time to do that stuff anymore and it gets harder to fit these super long games into my schedule. Either way, looking forward to it.

Persona 5 took me about 3 months to beat... and I was unemployed at the time.

The only way I can justify buying and playing the game again is if it eventually gets a Switch port.
I'll probably just check out the new stuff on YouTube.

Isn't the Answer more of an epilogue to 3 instead of a flat out remake? Its the one where you play as Aegis right? I didn't get far in it. I had just finished 3 and was too burnt out to finish the Answer.

That's true but I'm kinda counting it as part of the FES package where they do also enhance the main story too. For example, during the ending right before you go take a nap you get to talk to everyone whose Slink you max and there's a student festival and Aigis gets her own Slink and so on.

I actually played p3 before playing p3fes though, so when I got fes I instantly dove into The Answer (cause it explains that what you thought had happened in the ending actually was incorrect! damn!) and then later replayed the main game and experienced all the new stuff, so I have that association.
