PETA Hates Meat, Loves Videogames

Mama Kills Animals [http://www.peta.org/], but in fact the group is quite pleased by the attention and plans on creating "many, many more games" in the future.

Mama Kills Animals wasn't meant as an attack on either the Cooking Mama series or publisher GamesIndustry [http://www.majescoentertainment.com/]. "As the largest animal rights organization in the world, PETA acts to raise awareness of this issue. Given the popularity of games today - and especially the increased popularity of cooking games - we've decided to use this medium to spread our message. We use games to highlight the cruelty to animals because they appeal to people who are interested but may be turned off by more direct appeals."

The group said it initially began using videogames as a way to attract young males, but soon realized that the gaming audience was far more diverse than it initially thought. "Given the huge success that we've had with not use apes in its adverts [http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/superchicksisters/index.asp]. Gaming, both casual and hardcore, is on the rise, and we recognize that as a medium, gaming is as important as music, movies, and television."

The spokesman added that the timing of Mama Kills Animals, which came out one day before the release of Cooking Mama: World Kitchen, helped generate a "huge amount of buzz" that was ultimately good for both the game and Majesco. Pointing to the publisher's lighthearted and decidedly non-litigational response [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/87569-Cooking-Mama-Responds-To-PETA], the rep said, "I think that Majesco understands that the buzz that we created is good for the company. We're still hoping that Majesco will make Cooking Mama: Vegetarian Kitchen one day."

"Our game isn't an attack on the videogame industry. It's an attack on the meat industry," the spokesperson continued. "We love games (that's why we've created so many), and we love the Cooking Mama series."

And they spread their message with heinous misinformation, by portraying the meat industry as some of sick twisted place where animals are tortured and killed for fun and not food!

The meat industry does some deplorable things, but at the end of the day they give us food. PETA on the other hand just lies through their teeth, pulls stunts and makes pretty stupid news releases to garner attention...

How is it PETA is the only organization to recognize Video Games a legitimate medium? I mean really? PETA?

Because PETA is the only group, that was stupid enough to think it would work, (admittedly it did, so...). Also most other organizations wouldn't go to such extremes to lobby a cause, because they are decent.

Let's eat PETA members.

Sure, their meat will be stringy and probably poisonous, but we'll be making a point.
Yeah, I'm fed up with this fake PETA member meat! I've been eating that tofu PETA stuff for years!

Well, I guess that article that's still up about making games about real world situations just got what it wanted.

i think PETA is onto something here. A game with obscene amounts of blood and gore while intentionally trying to disturb the player? I'd buy it and eat KFC while playing.

liberally minded group
Not from what I've seen, they seem to be pretty damn militant about people believing/not believing exactly what they do.

Yeah, it takes a pretty open mind to understand that Liberal does not mean liberal does not mean liberal. i.e. i liberally throw oregano on my chicken while watching Liberals argue against liberal ideas.

What will be next? Perhaps God Of War. Hell, just use the Chef of War skin from the first and you're done.

Don't piss us off, we'll do it.

I didn't mean to poke fun at/offend all vegetarians, I just thought that "save a cow, eat a PETA member" didn't sound as smooth and I just couldn't resist the opurtunity to make a funny comment.

p.s. nice quote

PETA are an independent, liberally minded group with a generally younger-than-average membership and a passion for a cause - they are effectively the only group likely to catch on at this point.
Yes, but, like scientologists, they are also pants-on-head retarded.

And you would go about showing people how these animals are treated how? They tried peaceful solutions and they just got called hippies and written off. Now they try to be a bit more in your face.
Hmm, I dunno, maybe by not being a bunch of propaganda-spewing morons?

For the love of god do not try to defend the eco-terrorists. They equate animal life with human life, if not moreso. They are not hippies- they give Hippies a bad name. They're militant close minded violent brutes.
