Peter Mayhew aka Chewbacca has passed away

As the title says, Peter Mayhew, the British actor who protrayed Chewbacca in every live-action Star Wars movie up to and including The Force Awakens, has passed away in his home on April 30th. He is survived by his wife and 3 children. Mayhew was said to be the gentlest of giants and was known to be heavily involved in charitable works.

This is quite sad. I?m the antithesis of an ?on the whole? Star Wars fan, but in a vacuum, I?ve always loved lightsabers, Darth Vader and Chewbacca. And in reading up on Mr. Mayhew just now, I see he lived and died in Boyd, Texas which is roughly an hour west of me? had no idea Chewbacca was right down the street.
