Turtle or Iguana would be my choice. An Iguana is just perfect for putting on your shoulder.

`LAbradoodles work I think. And they're better than ugly hairlesss creatures. (Sorry if someone here is bold and now offended)

I've got a Welsh Fox Terrier and Fox Terrier Wire hybrid (dunno if you can call a dog like that...), we've been happy with her for 12 years counting. I've never had any problems with her, either allergic or because of my asthma.

Labrador Retrievers are awesome dogs, and they don't shed so much fur as it would seem.

But I guess that if you can endure 5 years, your body will get used to your dog's allergens. Same as why I can allow my dog to sleep on my bed and not suffer from ANY simptoms, yet I have problems with itchy eyes after 30 minutes with some random dog (for example, on a festival or something).
