Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition Announced, Surprising No One

As expected, Beamdog has announced that it is working on Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition.

On Monday, we told you that the odds were pretty good that a Planescape: Torment remaster was going to be announced [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/169915-Planscape-Torment-Remaster-Could-be-Announced-Tomorrow]. Yesterday afternoon, it was.

The original game was released in 1999, and is still considered one of the best RPGs ever made. Beamdog is hoping to improve the interface to make the game more enjoyable. The company said, "Beamdog has worked hard to ensure the feel and tone of the Enhanced Edition matches the original game. At the same time, they've also taken advantage of current generation technology to allow for improvements to the interface and feel - it's the best way to play Planescape: Torment, hands-down."

Beamdog is working on the project in conjunction with Chris Avellone, the lead designer of the original Planescape: Torment. According to the announcement post on the Beamdog blog [http://blog.beamdog.com/2017/03/beamdog-is-pleased-to-announce-our.html], Avellone "has partnered with Beamdog to curate gameplay updates, bug fixes, and enhancements to best capture the original vision for the game."

The music has been remastered, the interface has been rebuilt for 4K displays, and a number of modern features have been added, including area zooming, quickloot, a combat log, and more. Best of all, if you're looking forward to checking this one out, you won't have to wait long. Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition is coming to PC, Mac, iOS and Android on April 11. You can pre-order the game directly from Beamdog on the game's find it on Steam [http://planescape.com/]. It will cost you $19.99.

I don't know how but they're going to screw this up.
Baldur's Gate EE came out fine enough. Only problems I have with it are that it is fucking 2nd Edition...

Sure, Torment is also 2e, but dying isnt an issue :D
